I seem to have a comfort zone with 32 gauge wire, and 5 coils. If I got 34 or 36 gauge, will it effect the throat hit at all, or just the warmth?

Well, they work for the same team..Thinner wire = higher resistance. So you will be decreasing the warmth and TH by increasing your resistance. The only salvation(s) from that would be by using a menthol or higher nic level..and the higher nic may or may not give you the TH, depending on your tolerance.

Well, I'm not really a fan of TH. I get my juice from Vapor Renew, so I can get "Level 1" which is the lightest TH. So I'm extrapolating that the higher resistance would be good for me...?

Aye, you want lower watts then. Don't know your exact vaping style, but I would probably guess in the 6-8 watt range..higher ohms (1.7-2.4 on a 3.7 battery)?

I'm using a Vivi Nova on a Varitube. I tend to run it between 4.0 and 4.3, depending on how fresh the battery is, and how new the head is.

Sounds typical for a Nova.. Even on the 2.8 ohm heads, I couldn't push it past 4.7 volts..until I rebuilt it. Still don't get too high on it, but it was another of those devices my SO appreciates more than I do.

I just got the newest Nova, and when I went to rewire it, I noticed that they added a sleeve thingie inside. I didn't replace it, since it was REALLY black, and I've noticed a lot harsher TH now.

That little plug or grommet looking thing on the bottom, where the leads go down?

I'm guessing she is referring to the little cup that sits under the coil. I would think replacing it would be next to impossible. Not replacing it would allow more air to the coil

The older Nova I had did NOT include this fiber "sleeve" that is lining the inside of the head. Not the silicone plug, this is a little tube-like thing that the 2 downward wires (and the coil wrapped part of the wick) are encased in. But Keg is right, I'm getting more airflow, so it's burning better, thus more TH. I should have thought of that myself. Thanks Keg.

It may be my imagination, but the head looks SHORTER on the new Nova...
