Well, I'm kinda about ease of use, I figure adding flavorings from 3% to 20% I would create juices in a nic range from 11.5mg to 9.5mg marginally moving my pg/vg ratios from the 25/75. If I were making juices for others, I may not think this way, but I really think to start, mix a constant base, and flavor that base not worrying about being quite exact on my nic or pg/vg.

Might as well. The super concentrated flavors that we have been using don't contain PG so it is a bit easier to throw a percentage in not worrying about PG etc. When I add in any of the non SCFs, I usually don't worry too much about keeping the end result 100% accurate. Especially when you are starting out with flavors, you probably are not going to know how much you are going to add to each mix. I still play around with new mixes that way and probably wont worry too much about an exact until I get them down. This is why notes are important!

Hoping I didnt anger Hawk with the geekdom comment, he seems to have made an early departure tonight

But I'm back now. Naw..I don't anger easily, just an early to bed-early to rise guy.

Geekdom gets rather exciting when you start to figure a nickle or so per ml lol.
I kinda figure my mixes like you are thinking kegger. I have my base that is constant. Flavoring is the variable. I could get all geeky and plug the #'s into a calculator and know the %, but right now I'm just adding varying drops to my base to see how many it takes to come close to my flavor sweet spot. Haven't jotted a note yet but need to start especially when I start mixing flavor combos. So far I've just mixed standalones then mix those to see if any particular combo is even something I might like to pursue.

OK my mad scientist is coming out

If I were to combine 120ml of 100%pg 48mg and 360ml of 100%vg no nic. I would have a base of 480ml of 25pg/75vg 12mg correct?[/QUOTE
Yep..think you've got it. This is the same basic math I use...I think of mine as working in thirds.
My base is 3ml of 100mg nic base (pg)--4.5ml of pg--1.5ml pv vg =9ml...10ml bottle gives room for flavorings and mts etc...
Without plugging this into a calculator I know I'm somewhere around 80/20 with 33mg of nic. At first the math can seem somewhat daunting but after a bit tweaking in your head is pretty simple.

So, I got to thinking, if i can make my own e-juice, why can I not make my own DIY flavorings. I currently have steeping in vodka a lemon ginger teabag. After just a few mins it smells absolutely amazing.

Haven't tried it personally but I have heard of good results with a bunch of different additives. I feel to leave it to the people who make the flavorings. A lot of those flavorings have additional steps involved to further concentrate the flavor without the added water, alcohol, etc..

After a half hour, the vodka definately smells and tastes of the tea, hoping a long steep will concentrate the flavors. First impressions, a lil citric acid could really make this pop.

I wonder if after it steeps for a couple of weeks or so, if you then heat it up in a still type setup, wouldn't the vodka separate from the compound?
