Reading some ecig news this morning about all the tax money safety spin coming from politicians. Decided to re-calculate some numbers on my DIY juice.
Afterward thought it maybe useful for one considering getting into making their own juice. A big fan of RTSvapes so product prices coming from there.

Initial purchase (Most likly want to get several flavs)

1000ML - 60mg NIC = $65 ($0.065 per ML)
1000ML - PG = $19 ($0.019 per ML)
1000ML - VG = $19 ($0.019 per ML)
120ML TFA flavor = $13 ($0.108 per ML)
30ML bottles = $0.38
----------------------

Cost breakdown per ML

30ML 70PG/30VG 10% flav 12mg juice
6ml - Nic ($0.39)
12ml - PG ($0.228)
9ml - VG ( $0.171)
3ml - Flav ($0.324)
Bottle - ($0.38)
Total cost = $1.49 for 30ML juice

30ML 70PG/30VG 10% flav 24mg juice
12ml - Nic ($0.78)
6ml - PG ($0.114)
9ml - VG ($0.171)
3ml - Flav ($0.324)
Bottle ($0.38)
Total cost = $1.77 for 30ML juice

TTFN

Same ballpark - different mixes, but same ballpark - under $0.06/ml.
My guess is that what we could end up seeing is a dramatic impact on the cost of the NIC, due to taxation or expensive licensing/regulation. Still...even if it doubled, that'd make it maybe $2.50 for 30 mls. I could still vape for weeks and weeks for the cost of 1 pack of burners...

Let's see...If I ballpark by rounding everything up to nice round numbers for ease of calculating...

Flavorings cost me about $0.20 per milliliter, but I usually mix at around 20% so that comes out to $0.04 per milliliter.

Nicotine costs me about $50.00 per Liter for 100 mg which is $0.05 per milliliter, but let's say I mix for 20 mg/ml, so that works out to $0.01 per milliliter.

You can get it cheaper, but for the sake of simplicity let's say VG/PG costs $20.00 per Liter or $0.02 per milliliter and I use 60% to make up the rest of the mix, that comes out to about another $0.01 per milliliter.

That's $0.04 + $0.01 + $0.01 = $0.06 per milliliter which, because I estimated at the high end, perfectly aligns with Train2's observations above.

That's $6 for 100ml.

Are the so-called super premium e-liquids better than mine? Sure, but not a thousand percent better. I was having this conversation with a friend just the other day and my point is, of course, it's nice to go out and pamper myself with fine dining occasionally and I do, but I can whip up some pretty satisfying meals right here at home and that's what I will do 90% of the time. In the end, It's just groceries. It all depends on what you do with them. Same with vape juice. It isn't rocket surgery.

That is cheap. Hmm. Thanks for sharing.

Yep,with a little searching around, you can find killer deals, just like the $45 liter of nic posted above.I've been using heartland for quite a while, good stuff for cheap. They also sell flavors from several different brands at very good prices.Another way to get great prices on flavors, since you mentioned Tfa,go direct to Tfa's website, sign up for an account, then do the free upgrade to a bulk account, most 120ml bottles are $6-$7 each,i think the highest one is like $9 so very good prices there too. Then your vg/pg,i get mine from essential depot cost me $59 for a gallon of pg and a gallon of vg with shipping included.Diy can be super cheap if you know where to find the great deals.
