I ordered a very delicious tobacco flavored ejuice in 16mg strength, and filled my carto...but with every inhale I get a sharp biting feeling in the back of my throat throat. It completely ruins the vaping experience! Is this normal?

Ps: What is typically used to give the tobacco flavoring? If it's tobacco you might as well be smoking a cigarette again no?

Before we start I am no expert!

To the best of my knowledge tobacco flavourings are normally artificial flavours, however there are a few companies now doing tobacco 'stews'(must be a better word) I am very dubious over any natural flavours as they will contain a whole load of other active chemicals(just talk to an aromatherapist!)

The kick in the back of the throat can very dramatically with flavour, I have tried many of the red label type mixes and most are a bit soft for my liking. I tend to use spicy/dryer flavours like black tobacco and gold virgin types. These seem to almost have a peppery taste and effect on me which I like as it reminds me of the kick analogues have. Some people hate my mix and it makes quite a few people caugh as it gives a bit of a tickle in the throat.

It could be a bit too high for you on the nicotine depending on the atomiser you are using as some give a bigger kick than others. It could be worth adding a little bit of vg(vegetable glycerin) to soften it down a bit. Maybe try 10% would be my starting point. I find it worth having a bottle around to dilute some shop bought liquids, as some are too strong on flavour for me.

It could be the nicotine if 1. it's too high than you're used to, 2. cheap nicotine, 3. has capsicum added to it for throat hit (peppery).

Have you tried any other juices?

Some tobacco juice do come from Naturally Extracted Tobacco, and as labeled as NETs. Some use other extracts such as Whole Tobacco Alkaloids (WTA) or Tobacco Absolute (TA). MOST use flavorings to simulate the flavor of tobacco and use additives such as capsicum to provide a "realistic" throat hit, but it comes off as Peppery.

I am not familiar with that vendor's juices. Check out VaporChase on Youtube. He reviews many Canadian vendors, since he is a Canadian vendor himself.

If you are used to 0 nic, that bite could be the nic.
In this case, that is unlikely the case.

The one review of this liquid also talks about a "bite" in the aftertaste.
The description of this liquid does not really give a give any hints to what might be perceived as a "bite", so that doesn't help much.
Little more I can say.

Also, if this IS your first liquid, it does take a while to get use to the sensation of Vapor as opposed to Smoke, the PG/VG, etc. It is kinda weird at first, just like when you first began smoking. But you get used to it.

Just throwing that out there, since I have not tried the juice, nor heard of the Vendors involved.

I personally hate this "bite". A good comparison is between Blu and NJoy disposables. Blu uses either %100 VG or predominantly VG Johnson's Creek juice, and even at 16mg-24mg of Nic, the juice has no acidic bite and you can vape it all day long. NJoy uses PG most likely, and from what I hear, the Nic goes up to 42mg. They're impossible to vape. It literally sends the inside of your throat and mouth on fire, like you inhaled acid. Two completely different worlds.

I'd suggest trying VG lines from various retailers. I personally know that Johnson's Creek makes for an extremely soft vape, at least in the Blu cartos.

Hi, I'm new to vaping. It was Canadian Rich from CanadaVapes. I dropped about 15 drops of eliquid into the cartomizer and vaped..the sharp bit ruins the experience!

If you were using a filler type cartomizer, 15 drops would only amount to it being about 1/2 full, and mostly just in the top of the carto. If the carto was a bottom coil type it's very likely that it was burning the filler and that will always give a sharp, stab-in-the-throat sensation.

It's best to really soak the filler on those and gently blow out any excess liquid before beginning to vape. A few lost drops of juice is much cheaper than a fatally burnt carto.
