Shelf Life for Liquid

Some suppliers talk about making the flavors fresh before send it out and, considering what we do with it, I certainly hope that e-liquid doesn't contain any preservatives. So that got me thinking. Does anyone know the approximate shelf life for the stuff?

Any e-liquids I've purchased that has an expiration date has been 2 years.
