I agree, that looks jacked, making contact on one side but not the other...looks like a crossthreading issue. That sucks, I hope they take care of you. I know the owner said he's not going to be around for a few days. At least you can still use it, but I'd be disappointed too.
I gotta say, I'm shocked. Tom wrote to me by email, saying he's going to contact his US distro and to "rest assured, I'll get that taken care of for you."

That is not the answer iJoy or hcigar would have replied with - assuming they responded at all Lol. So THATS what coughing up extra $$ gets you in the vape market when you have a problem. I'm impressed!

I don't know why they didn't choose glass, but they didn't. This isn't a mass produced item, it's not designed nor marketed to meet everyone's needs...there are plenty of other attys available, demanding that a company change its mind about something seems pretty juvenile. If glass is that big of a deal for you, this isn't the tank for you. The new ultim sections are better than glass, imo, you can use any kind of juice, just like glass, and don't have to worry about breakage as much if you drop it or whatever. It does come with two pmma sections, the 'tall'one, holds about 4ml, I think, and the standard, short one, that holds 2ml. I've never used the short setup but some guys do.

So its juvinal is it also when you pay do much to expect a tank whos threads dont slice your fingers to hell ,

It comes apart stuck with crappy threading , an leaks since now the parts wont unscrew so no undoing to work on deck without the chamber an chin unscrewing from the top cap dumping all the contents all over , because of the burrs that should of been sorted , Ive had tanks that cost 10$ that the treads where smoother , I bought the utlem plastic tank also to place on it , but the threads are dam sharp an now the chamber an chim are stuck together an wont unscrew trying to do so results in cut hands, looks like pliers as last resort will try again tomorrow , but at least there's more than me having threading issues , which are shocking an razor sharp ,

But cannot get these parts undo , resulting in slicing my fingers thumbs hands , on trying to grip it to undo , threads are razor sharp , an now the parts seem to be jammed together

Yep and there are other options out there. I got the Modfather which is also not mass produced. Excellent build quality, awesome options like a series deck, postless deck, tall and short kits. It also doesn't cheap out with a plastic tank. Downside is small runs so they're hard to find and sell out fast.

Utem is plastic and I amongst a lot of others don't like nor trust plastic and for the price of this tank it should have glass. Also for the price having to pay additional for Ultem (just another form of plastic) .... nope.

Ive also got the Mod Farther and had no problems with it other than trying waiting to get the postless deck for it 3 months and counting , but will be worthwhile when it comes ,
Also the threads on mod Farther are a lot smoother too , not rushed or razor sharp

Yep, I'm simply in love with my Modfather, I've literally got all the accessories and it's a joy.

I was really interested in the Sherman until the buzz kill was the plastic Tank, what a shame :(

If they do come out with a quartz or even a basic pyrex tank (included for the price they're charging) I'll be all over it.

I hear ya. Got slices on most of my fingertips that I got from trying to unscrew the small chimney's top cap from the top of the RTA - that was a MAJOR PITA.

I finally got it by throwing it in the freezer for an hour and then twisting them apart using rubber bands and latex gloves. Maybe you'll have some luck that way.

Looks like the only option i will have without having to use pliers , them dam slices sting like hell now [emoji35]
Thanks for the heads up an also looks like im not the only one with this problem , for the price they should actually have quality control on them , i could understand if there where cheap clones , but there not theses are exclusive expensive tanks , with rough razor sharp threads

Pliers will probably wreck it lol. I would write to the manufacturer like I did, before you take pliers to it.

Tom is a pretty damn good guy from the looks of it. I can't believe his responses to me. I haven't received anything that nice from a vape company - ever. It's usually just one word responses (if they ever even respond, yea I'm talking to you iJoy/Hcigar.)

But seriously, I think the freezer will do the trick for ya. Works for me every time!

Wow ................ now I'm really glad I didn't pull the trigger on one.
IMO for any RDA or RTA over $50 the threads need to be butter, spotless clean, zero bur's, etc. That and with tanks no cheaping out with plastic tanks or chamber. It stuns me to see things like this and people flock all over it. That and the $150 -$200 Narda clone called the O-Atty.

I've got a fair share of expensive gear like a Kayfun, Squape, Mose, Velocity, etc. that I paid top dollar for but they are worth every penny. O'well I'd better get off my soap box ;)

I'll be honest tho - this thing vapes amazingly well.

You can see from my initial thoughts on this that I'm no shill. If something is a turd, I'll call it. But this thing is no turd. Some threads are sharp, but they are still buttery when screwing it all down (minus my top cap).

My top cap is the only issue (which again, apparently the customer service is top notch - I'll update you guys once Tom responds to me about a for sure replacement, as currently he's trying to locate one in the US for me).

I'm not going to BS you and tell you that buying this will make you win the lottery, but it's the best vape I've ever had off an RTA - and I have way too many lol.

Once my top cap situation is rectified, this will be the best tank I've ever used, no question.

And the plastic tank, yea, big con to me as well. Apparently that's what the majority of buyers want, based on what I've seen from the group on FB. I do hope they come out with something like quartz eventually.

It took me a while to figure out how to take the tank apart when it first got to me, but it wasn't super tight, like some of them are, I guess. Seems like freezing and using rubber gloves has pretty much worked for guys that did have problems. I feel that the build quality is very good, I like the threading on mine, I can get everything apart by hand easily, although the chimney/cap joint is still tight...but that's not really something you have to take apart a lot. I don't think this is a perfect tank, I'd like to access the deck more easily, and have more capacity, bigger juice fill holes..I guess I just think that for what it is, it's really good. I'd prefer glass, too but it's not a big deal to me. I still think the Sherman kicks ... at a reasonable price, delivers great flavor for a big cloudy tank. Maybe if they make a version, they'll change some of these things.

Yea, it bothered me at first, but I normally vape 100% VG, no flavoring, so I'm not concerned with tank-cracker juices.

I definitely remember cracking plenty of plastic tanks back when I did vape flavored juice - so I hear ya!

I actually have cracked more plastic tanks (just trying to unscrew everything, and applying minimal force to the plastic section) than I have glass tanks. I really hope they do it!

Does your AFC ring spin freely? If they have a V2, I really hope they add a stopper to the AFC ring - it would make tightening everything down/unscrewing everything so much easier.

You should contact the vendor if your threading isn't right...mine is way better than any chinese atty I've used. It's on a par with the Hurricane, as far as machining goes. Yours might be cross threaded or something, it should be smooth as butter. I can only assume that it's either put together wrong, or it has manufacturing errors. Make sure everything is nice and tight and if it still has gaps, I would definitely contact them, it shouldn't. This isn't the only high end-ish tank that uses pmma instead of glass, so does the hurricane and the aqua2....that being said, he has ultim tanks available now, and if you really need glass, the glass from the Omega BFT are said to work, with minimal overhang....to me, it's not a big deal at all, I knew it came with pmma before I ordered it, it's not like they baited and switched on us. Anyway, hope you enjoy the tank and can fix the issues...mine is machined as well as any tank I've ever used and better than 90% of them. I do know that especially as a small company the owner wants his customers to be happy, so I'm sure they'll address any machining issues you have....I'm in their facebook group, and haven't seen anyone else mention gaps.
Which version of Omega bft tank glass is it that fits the Sherman may i ask since they sell glass only kits so i would purchase if you could help me find out which one it is

If you could let me know which version it is thats said to fit, or find out from the one whom told you which he tried since they come in different capacities

I could purchase the correct one to try myself an satisfy my need for glass not bothered over a little over hang since utlem over hangs slighty

I have asked, I will post as soon as I get an answer. I'm pretty sure it's not the hybrid bft, but am awaiting confirmation of that...ps, asylum mods said that they're actually working on a glass tank, but that may be a while.
Thank you , that would be great
