Shhh vaping while in the hospital

I work in healthcare and we don't really care. We turn the other cheek and don't say anything. Of course, there's always that "one" that goes by the book and wants to throw her make believe power around. We don't like those people. vape until they tell you to stop and then start again at shift change. Plus, you can shut the door and put a sign that says "knock before entering" and then you'd have a heads up. Trust me...it works. Also, ask for extra linens (wash clothes, hand towels) and blow the vape into those. Them just tuck it under you when they come in. Yes, we have a no smoking policy at the hospital. People vape all the time.

Sadly many hospital administrators and governing boards are under the mistaken impression that they are running a spa or a prison--it varies depending on which floor your being treated/detained on. Ask your nurse to put the knock before entering sign on the door and vape away. You're renting that room and you can do what you want.

How any hospital can claim to be treating you while denying you basic rights is beyond me unless you've been put in the hospital involuntarily. The nurses that won't even let a patient go outside are the ones that blow my mind. Really? Did you just come from your shift at the prison? Unhook me from this thing or put some wheels on it because I'm going outside! The pain management signs plastered all over the place also annoy me, too. You'll let me self administer morphine but not nicotine? Some days I wonder if barbers didn't do a better job at medicine.

This is one of the best points I've seen brought up since I've been here at ECF. I TOTALLY agree!

In virginia beach you are allowed to vape in the rooms..
Just spent tonight in childrens hospital in norfolk vaping. I put it down when they talked to me out of respect. But they dont care.

Back in july my grandmother was hospitalized vaping was allowed untill she got put in icu

Be aware that vapor will set off some types of smoke alarms if thick and concentrated enough. Explaining things to a cop before a bunch of ticked off firemen will really bum your vape.

I pull my arms inside my coat and lower head into and vape.

I dont do it all the time mind you, just once in awhile when I know Im in for a long wait.
