I personally don't mind paying another 3.00 if I'm buying over 100.00 worth of stuff...means it's in a bigger box...and they always throw samples in....and it isn't as if their prices aren't ALREADY cheaper than smoking, and more competive than many I've seen out there. Dang SR219, do you ever NOT want to include your negativity on their boards?

$9.95? I'm very disappointed to see this --especially when you need to place an order to get something replaced. That means that if I have a faulty product, not only do I have to order something else to get it replaced, I now have to pay an additional $10 on top of that.

I have a battery now that I should have replaced, but I've been holding off. I originally ordered a new purple auto which did not work. I ordered a replacement, requesting an old-style auto (per their instructions), and they sent me another new-style purple auto. This one worked, and I posted about it happily, until I realized it only worked with one carto lol. It doesn't work with any other carto, and that carto has long since gone to meet its maker. I have held off on getting it replaced because it would cost me the $6.95 shipping + whatever I order just to get what I originally requested. Now it's $9.95 + the order. Apparently I should have just ordered.

I've been ordering from V4L since October (I get ALL my hardware from them), and I have been very, very pleased with them, but I'm pretty disappointed in this shipping price hike.

There has been no shipping price hike. I just spent over 100.00 on an order, thats all. It's still 6.95 for anything under.

That's also a myth. If you're not making another order right away/need something replaced - they'll take care of it. They suggest doing it that way to combine shipping costs.

A myth? No, not a myth. Adrenalynn, if that's a myth, then I would like to know why I have been told each and every time I needed something replaced to "note it on my next order". I have never been offered another option. Not once. I've placed a number of extra orders (that I wasn't planning on), just to get replacements for things that weren't working properly.

With that being said, I generally haven't minded too much having to do it that way because Steve is a very generous person. That still doesn't mean it's a myth, however. ;)

V4L is an amazing company!! Their shipping is reasonable, order processing is off the charts, outstanding warranty and their customer service is something I have not seen for a very long time (if ever). They make every effort to keep you smilin'. Their product is the best of the best. And most of all they CARE about each and every one of us!!

A big THANK YOU to the V4L crew.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it !!

When I have had to return something to V4L, it was suggested to me that I include a note with my next order and it would be taken care of. I replied that I didn't think I would be ordering soon, but I really would like the replacement asap. Val very willingly mailed me a replacement. So, according to my experience, it IS a myth that you have to re-order to get an exchange. Just adding my 2 cents to the rest of your comments.

There have been DOZENS of related posts here, maybe more.

I rarely read many of the posts here. I don't have the time. However I do have a recent PM from a V4L employee who told me to "make a note of it on my next order", and then hinted that I should wait until sometime the following week when there would probably be a sale (a tip that I appreciated since it would save me money). That is not indicative of having other options.

Have you ever said to them "can we do it some other way, I need it sooner than that?"

No, I didn't. I just placed the extra order asap if I was in dire need since I had been told to note any replacements I needed on my next order. I naturally assumed, since I had never been given any other options, that it was my only option.

It is, in fact, a myth that you must wait until your next order to have an item replaced.

Leaford (I believe) posted here, on this subject, some months back that the reason they tell you to note it when placing an order is so that they have it in the system. So, regardless of the mythical properties of said policy, the fact remains that I have been told time and time again by the crew at V4L to make a note on my next order and that they would take care of it for me. So, that's what I did. I ordered.

However, now that I know there is another option, I will use that option if the need arises unless I actually do need to place another order.
