What do you suggest for those of us who don't have that extra $6 in shipping for a 10ml or wicking coil or even a carto yet still have must pay the $6 to ship it when we don't have it?
I'm glad you can afford to order whenever you want & that you possess the funds to "add a few more items to your cart to buy in order to make the shipping costs worth it," however, NOT EVERYONE HAS MONEY HANGING OUT THE BACKSIDE TO SPEND...
I've hit months where I've literally had to go elsewhere for e-liquids to tide me over another week or so b/c there was no way I was going to be able to afford the shipping costs at MFS. And, you can add insurance and even tracking to those cheap yet internal bubble-wrap envelops that are yellow in color and only cost approx $2+/- and most often it's $2- to ship.
Granted, I don't care for the e-liquids but it's the only thing that is keeping me from reverting back to analogs, even if I have to buy them by the pack at a time.
I am an extreme fan of MFS; hwr, there need to be some better choices for those who place smaller orders, particularly when the cost of the product is considerably higher than the cost of the product you just purchased. For smaller orders, there should be smaller, less-expensive, shipping via those bubble-wrapped envelopes.
It is bad enough that Ebay rips people off when it comes to shipping costs but it feels as if they set the model for every retail store in the country & abroad that makes shipments and now it is trickling down to the smaller businesses.
Years ago before I wasn't able to work anymore, I ran the envelopes through the postage machine; I'm talking in the neighborhood of 40,000-75,000 customers. Even when I was sending out documents in letters that were under 10,000, the company received a major discount from the post service as I did all the work for them before packing the trays into the snap-over cover so the mail didn't go flying out and away when the cover wasn't over the back but the truck's bed was always covered to prevent scratches, dirt, and other crap from getting all over it. Anyhow, I don't see why the post office hasn't (or perhaps has but nobody's talking about) made deals with companies like Ebay and others. I can't help but question this b/c I worked in this area and kept up with all the trays, all the postage resets on the machine to take the office's mail by size, zip code (separate trays for separate zip codes), & setting the postage amounts, which were hung on the wall in dark marker and laminated so everyone knew what to send where and how much it would cost the company to send it out.
Far too many online stores I've run across are blatantly cheating customers when it comes to mail costs. Go check out the Amazon New/Used section if you don't believe me, esp on a difficult to find piece. My concern is to prevent E-Cig companies to fall in behind other companies who are cheating the public by pocketing the excessive amounts that doesn't go toward shipping or even shipping supplies. Offering a backup method for smaller orders makes excellent business sense, particularly when all you need to order is something small that will fit neatly & securely in the bubble envelopes where the inside is snug & safe & cheaper than USPS' Priority Mail with only 1 price tag.
FYI: I have to budget for 3 people, one minor child with gluten sensitivities that could easily turn into full-blown autoimmune disease(s) at some point in the future, a husband who is supposed to be on a diabetic & heart-smart diet b/c he suffered 2 MIs that almost killed him but not without the assistance of a stroke that hit at the same time as well & all this - the damage to his heart, his diabetes (type I since he was 3, now 49-1/2yrs old), plus the 2 heart attacks that left him physically disabled yet we have been fighting Social Securities b/c they used some ..... who has only practiced cardiology in THEORY rather than a REAL CARDIOLOGIST who practices each day, every day, and on call when needed, which is the doctor he is seeing and even he agrees his claim should be approved. What's even worse is that his need for insulin his so high now that it requires 3 injections to give him all of his insulin/2types, not to mention that he receives those injections 8 to 15+/- times a day & MUST EAT behind the 2nd of the two or it will kill him b/c it hits his body & hits hard to the point where if he went down, his sugar levels can be so faint they barely register, which can not only cause him to go into a coma, but should he retain consciousness, he may not remember anything & that's the upside; then there is the probability that he would never retain consciousness and he's told me more times than I can count he doesn't want to live on life-support machines, but if by some miracle he does come out of it, he could literally be childlike and with any neurological damage from the diabetic coma, I wouldn't be able to care for him at home. :'(
As for myself, I have only a small residual amt of vision that waxes and wanes depending upon the light sources around me (fluorescent lights give me migraines, for example, as does forgetting to take my heart meds 2x a day b/c I don't have anyone at home to help me remember to take all my meds; the brain fog from Lupus (SLE) is the worst at scrambling my brain making it difficult for me to recall when I need to take my meds and when I'm taken them but my computer has to be open for the program to work and it's heating up so badly now I can't leave it running all the time or it will melt. My daughter's notebook is about a year or so, give or take, older than mine & it's quitting, which concerns me b/c she needs it for her classwork just as I need mine for article work as it's the only excess income I can earn but only when I'm not in a flare, experiencing chronic dry eyes from Sjogren's Disease, the added pain from Fibromyalgia, and even more problems with Osteoarthritis, which the latter was dx'd within the past year w/spinal damage to my lumbar spine that will leave me in a wheelchair & I won't be able to fight my way out this time. As if I needed to add fuel to the flame, I found out a little over 2 months ago that my liver is having problems and I'm not exactly organ transplant material b/c my immune system would attack a new liver all over again.
Not everyone wears these Rose-Colored glasses you seem to have in abundance; not all of us have a money tree in the backyard either. And as for budgeting my money each month, I budget everything down to the dime and in the process, I give up everything I would like to have at home in order to assure our daughter is taken care of along with my husband and the stress of all this is eating me alive but I can't give him a reason for another heart attack to hit b/c the surgeon who did his quad bypass told me that the next heart attack will likely kill him. So, I do what I have to do in order to keep my family together.
You come across as having forgot that more people doing without than others who can possess their every whim!
If I'm mistaken, I'm sorry but please think first b/c there are people who are in worse shape than we are and while we don't have much, I try to help as many as I can if I have anything someone may need and we do not; this is especially true of baby things b/c I can't have more children even though I always wanted a son of my own. Granted, I did raise my sibling and I love him like a son just as he loves me as his mom; I have two beautiful girls, still, I wanted to try one more time for a boy but I couldn't due to the damage done to my uterus when carrying the girls to term as I was never supposed to conceive let alone carry to term. So, I've given all my baby things away except for little mementos b/c I know they will make some mother or mother/father or father have a much easier time. I am glad to do it, even if I didn't get my baby boy I always wanted, but regardless, I love my girls & wouldn't trade them for anything although I have wished for a muzzle a time or two after they learned the value of sarcasm, which was at a rather young age!
actually i find their shipping charges more than reasonable. im the kind of guy i hate to wait on anything, and for priority shipping on their stuff for under 6 bucks, what more can you ask for. none of my business really, but in the future you may consider adding a couple more items to your order before ordering.
inly complaint ive had with them on their shipping is i had made a purchase sometime back, selected priority mail and they shipped via fedex ground which ticked me off slightly as i called and emailed and never got any response to them. problem for me is i live in a rather rural area, and fedex and UPS ground sucks bigtime. fedex ground takes like 9 days to reach us, whereas pririty USPS is generally 3 days. we live far enough out that fedex and ups dont run their ground stuff up my way unless they have a full truck load, s items comming thru them to me can sit in a warehouse 75 miles from me for days until they get the load up. our usps overnight takes 2-3 days, same as priority.
i dont mind paying a bit more in shipping for priority mail if the orders to big to go flat rate. in the future my suggestion would be to email the customer if you cant ship with the selected shipping mode and ask the customers opinion. some customers like me would be willing to pay EXTRA for priority if the situation calls for it.
