Our shipping fees are based on the fact that we only use Priority Mail Shipping through USPS as a standard shipping option. This is mainly because our service is designed for lightning fast order processing and shipment. First class mail may be cheaper in some instances, but we have found that it is not as reliable and can run into significant delays which goes against the service we are trying to provide. Therefore, we have currently decided to forego this option for the time being.

That being said, we are constantly re-evaluating this decision and may in fact add other cheaper shipping options in the future. We have just decided that it is not necessary at this point, especially since we offer free shipping for orders over $75.

actually i find their shipping charges more than reasonable. im the kind of guy i hate to wait on anything, and for priority shipping on their stuff for under 6 bucks, what more can you ask for. none of my business really, but in the future you may consider adding a couple more items to your order before ordering.

inly complaint ive had with them on their shipping is i had made a purchase sometime back, selected priority mail and they shipped via fedex ground which ticked me off slightly as i called and emailed and never got any response to them. problem for me is i live in a rather rural area, and fedex and UPS ground sucks bigtime. fedex ground takes like 9 days to reach us, whereas pririty USPS is generally 3 days. we live far enough out that fedex and ups dont run their ground stuff up my way unless they have a full truck load, s items comming thru them to me can sit in a warehouse 75 miles from me for days until they get the load up. our usps overnight takes 2-3 days, same as priority.

i dont mind paying a bit more in shipping for priority mail if the orders to big to go flat rate. in the future my suggestion would be to email the customer if you cant ship with the selected shipping mode and ask the customers opinion. some customers like me would be willing to pay EXTRA for priority if the situation calls for it.

Thanks for the feedback. usually if the order is over a certain weight (5-8lbs) it makes sense to send it via Fedex Ground instead of USPS Priority. We are working on a method of notifying customers when this occurs, but it's still in the early stages of development and obviously doesn't work properly all of the time. Very sorry for the mis-communication on our part.

Bottom line cost is a big factor for me when ordering online. I would order from MyFreedomSmokes more often if there was a cheap ground shipping option. I'd rather spend the money on additional product and wait an extra day or two. This is especially the case when placing orders for $10 or less.

What do you suggest for those of us who don't have that extra $6 in shipping for a 10ml or wicking coil or even a carto yet still have must pay the $6 to ship it when we don't have it?

I'm glad you can afford to order whenever you want & that you possess the funds to "add a few more items to your cart to buy in order to make the shipping costs worth it," however, NOT EVERYONE HAS MONEY HANGING OUT THE BACKSIDE TO SPEND...

I've hit months where I've literally had to go elsewhere for e-liquids to tide me over another week or so b/c there was no way I was going to be able to afford the shipping costs at MFS. And, you can add insurance and even tracking to those cheap yet internal bubble-wrap envelops that are yellow in color and only cost approx $2+/- and most often it's $2- to ship.

Granted, I don't care for the e-liquids but it's the only thing that is keeping me from reverting back to analogs, even if I have to buy them by the pack at a time.

I am an extreme fan of MFS; hwr, there need to be some better choices for those who place smaller orders, particularly when the cost of the product is considerably higher than the cost of the product you just purchased. For smaller orders, there should be smaller, less-expensive, shipping via those bubble-wrapped envelopes.

It is bad enough that Ebay rips people off when it comes to shipping costs but it feels as if they set the model for every retail store in the country & abroad that makes shipments and now it is trickling down to the smaller businesses.

Years ago before I wasn't able to work anymore, I ran the envelopes through the postage machine; I'm talking in the neighborhood of 40,000-75,000 customers. Even when I was sending out documents in letters that were under 10,000, the company received a major discount from the post service as I did all the work for them before packing the trays into the snap-over cover so the mail didn't go flying out and away when the cover wasn't over the back but the truck's bed was always covered to prevent scratches, dirt, and other crap from getting all over it. Anyhow, I don't see why the post office hasn't (or perhaps has but nobody's talking about) made deals with companies like Ebay and others. I can't help but question this b/c I worked in this area and kept up with all the trays, all the postage resets on the machine to take the office's mail by size, zip code (separate trays for separate zip codes), & setting the postage amounts, which were hung on the wall in dark marker and laminated so everyone knew what to send where and how much it would cost the company to send it out.

Far too many online stores I've run across are blatantly cheating customers when it comes to mail costs. Go check out the Amazon New/Used section if you don't believe me, esp on a difficult to find piece. My concern is to prevent E-Cig companies to fall in behind other companies who are cheating the public by pocketing the excessive amounts that doesn't go toward shipping or even shipping supplies. Offering a backup method for smaller orders makes excellent business sense, particularly when all you need to order is something small that will fit neatly & securely in the bubble envelopes where the inside is snug & safe & cheaper than USPS' Priority Mail with only 1 price tag.

FYI: I have to budget for 3 people, one minor child with gluten sensitivities that could easily turn into full-blown autoimmune disease(s) at some point in the future, a husband who is supposed to be on a diabetic & heart-smart diet b/c he suffered 2 MIs that almost killed him but not without the assistance of a stroke that hit at the same time as well & all this - the damage to his heart, his diabetes (type I since he was 3, now 49-1/2yrs old), plus the 2 heart attacks that left him physically disabled yet we have been fighting Social Securities b/c they used some ..... who has only practiced cardiology in THEORY rather than a REAL CARDIOLOGIST who practices each day, every day, and on call when needed, which is the doctor he is seeing and even he agrees his claim should be approved. What's even worse is that his need for insulin his so high now that it requires 3 injections to give him all of his insulin/2types, not to mention that he receives those injections 8 to 15+/- times a day & MUST EAT behind the 2nd of the two or it will kill him b/c it hits his body & hits hard to the point where if he went down, his sugar levels can be so faint they barely register, which can not only cause him to go into a coma, but should he retain consciousness, he may not remember anything & that's the upside; then there is the probability that he would never retain consciousness and he's told me more times than I can count he doesn't want to live on life-support machines, but if by some miracle he does come out of it, he could literally be childlike and with any neurological damage from the diabetic coma, I wouldn't be able to care for him at home. :'(

As for myself, I have only a small residual amt of vision that waxes and wanes depending upon the light sources around me (fluorescent lights give me migraines, for example, as does forgetting to take my heart meds 2x a day b/c I don't have anyone at home to help me remember to take all my meds; the brain fog from Lupus (SLE) is the worst at scrambling my brain making it difficult for me to recall when I need to take my meds and when I'm taken them but my computer has to be open for the program to work and it's heating up so badly now I can't leave it running all the time or it will melt. My daughter's notebook is about a year or so, give or take, older than mine & it's quitting, which concerns me b/c she needs it for her classwork just as I need mine for article work as it's the only excess income I can earn but only when I'm not in a flare, experiencing chronic dry eyes from Sjogren's Disease, the added pain from Fibromyalgia, and even more problems with Osteoarthritis, which the latter was dx'd within the past year w/spinal damage to my lumbar spine that will leave me in a wheelchair & I won't be able to fight my way out this time. As if I needed to add fuel to the flame, I found out a little over 2 months ago that my liver is having problems and I'm not exactly organ transplant material b/c my immune system would attack a new liver all over again.

Not everyone wears these Rose-Colored glasses you seem to have in abundance; not all of us have a money tree in the backyard either. And as for budgeting my money each month, I budget everything down to the dime and in the process, I give up everything I would like to have at home in order to assure our daughter is taken care of along with my husband and the stress of all this is eating me alive but I can't give him a reason for another heart attack to hit b/c the surgeon who did his quad bypass told me that the next heart attack will likely kill him. So, I do what I have to do in order to keep my family together.

You come across as having forgot that more people doing without than others who can possess their every whim!

If I'm mistaken, I'm sorry but please think first b/c there are people who are in worse shape than we are and while we don't have much, I try to help as many as I can if I have anything someone may need and we do not; this is especially true of baby things b/c I can't have more children even though I always wanted a son of my own. Granted, I did raise my sibling and I love him like a son just as he loves me as his mom; I have two beautiful girls, still, I wanted to try one more time for a boy but I couldn't due to the damage done to my uterus when carrying the girls to term as I was never supposed to conceive let alone carry to term. So, I've given all my baby things away except for little mementos b/c I know they will make some mother or mother/father or father have a much easier time. I am glad to do it, even if I didn't get my baby boy I always wanted, but regardless, I love my girls & wouldn't trade them for anything although I have wished for a muzzle a time or two after they learned the value of sarcasm, which was at a rather young age! :)

It's not fair to call it cheating. MyFreedomSmokes is very upfront about their policy and they deliver on the fast shipping. You are truly getting what you pay for. It's a smart business model to say that "everyone" will receive their order fast and clearly itemize what that costs.

I agree that many on-line businesses play games with shipping. Most of the free shipping offers aren't really free. They just build the shipping cost into the price.

FYI: I HAVE BEEN A PATRON OF MY FREEDOM SMOKES FOR 4+ YEARS; ADDITIONALLY, I HAVEN'T ACCUSED MFS OF PRICE-GOUGING! I DID SAY THERE NEEDED TO BE A LOWER COST SHIPPING METHOD IN PLACE WHEN ONLY ONE ITEM IS NEEDED AND IT ONLY COSTS $2 WHEREAS SHIPPING COSTS ARE $5.95! IN MY CASE, DOESN'T NEED TO BE THAT MUCH B/C I AM ELIGIBLE FOR MAILINGS WITH THE PROPER INFORMATION WRITTEN WHERE A STAMP WOULD OTHERWISE GO & ADD THE WORDS: "FREE MATTER FOR THE BLIND," B/C I AM LEGALLY ELIGIBLE FOR FREE SHIPPING BUT THE ONLY MAIL I RECEIVE "FREE MATTER" COMES FROM THE GUIDE DOG SCHOOL THAT TRAINED MY CURRENT GUIDE DOG ALONG WITH A DEAR FRIEND WHO IS BLIND, AND A FEW CLASSMATES I AM IN CONTACT WITH FROM WHEN I WAS ON CLASS FOR MY FIRST GUIDE DOG. MANY OF US DO NOT LETTER WRITE B/C I CANNOT READ BRAILLE DUE TO NERVE DAMAGE IN MY IN HANDS AND FINGERTIPS AND THEY CAN'T READ LARGE PRINTED TEXT BUT MANY HAVE READERS WHO COME OUT EACH WEEK TO READ FOR THEM. I HAVE A TEENAGER WHO DOES THAT OR I SCAN THE PAPER INTO THE DOCUMENT FEED OF MY PRINTER SO IT PULLS IT INTO THE OCR PROGRAM WHERE MY SOFTWARE FOR THE BLIND READS IT!

What I want to know is would YOU BE HAPPY SPENDING $6 for a part that cost under 2$? If so, then go enjoy your money tree in the backyard b/c mine doesn't have any leaves on it and even if it did, there's still far too much month and nowhere near enough money!

How do you justify NOT CALLING COMPANIES THAT BAIT & SWITCH COSTS IN SHIPPING CHEATS? ARE YOU CRAZY? I guess you must really think that little plastic egg they show on late-night QVC or other sales channels are worth shipping from 1 to 2 states away yet you pay $12.95 for shipping and it shows up about 3 weeks later!

I'm sorry that you took my post as an attack. If you scroll back to post #6 you'll see that I re-started this thread asking for more choices. I'm on your side.

Asking for a broader selection of shipping choices is a fair way to address this matter.

I need to send you my oldest daughter's electric sharpener so you might get the point here! (Don't worry, our youngest has one that's only a few years or so old so she's golden on wood pencils though she uses the mechanical ones b/c of her drafting classes then charcoal for her other art class...

READ MY POST: WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT I AM ANGRY WITH MFS? (!) I AM NOT!

All I am saying is that you have forgotten that not everybody can afford to just add more to their cart to make the shipping justifiable and that's a WHOLE LOT OF BODIES! It simply makes better business sense, and yes I did go to college to study Business as well as minoring in Accounting. Before losing a large chunk of my sight, I could create and read blueprints as well and keep the books for several or so contractors at one time along with handling all their accts receivable as well as accts receivable/payable for several or so contractors! I even ran my own business for well over a decade and the businesses of others along with scheduling, and getting the paperwork reports ready for the fiscal year end tax year.

Adding a 2nd and more affordable shipping option is simply good business. It worked for decades so I don't figure how it won't work now. It will work until we can literally pay for an item then stick our hands through the computer screen to pluck the item out of the screen while it's in complete and total working order!

I think is was just the all caps. In electronic communication it's considered yelling. Just a guess.

These are really good points. I know I normally wait and order when I have several items... there is the risk of losing out on a deal or going back to find its out of stock. When I was doing more modding, I simply had to deal with it on some specialized items - it is frustrating on a small order and a budget drain.

I can also see the vendor's side too. To provide quick response to orders you hire more people. You've got to pay them and rather than raise merchandise prices, you add the S/H fee. Most companies are good about it and make it reasonable - but I've canceled in mid order on some items simply because the charge was outrageous. Sometimes it does seem like they're trying to all the grease out of your bucket for their wheels.

It's a perfectly good business model that MyFreedomSmokes has decided on. Compare it to grocery stores. Some stores cater to the budget shopper looking for real cheap items. The Costco/Sams Club approach caters to volume shoppers. Most metropolitan areas have a premium, high-service chain that sells premium products with premium service. And, of course, there are the small Mom & Pop corner convenience stores.

Creating a brand and an identity is key to be successful. Promising fast shipping is a smart way to differentiate your business from other online retailers.

Try living in a city where up until my needs had to be met by putting up a mailbox in front of my home b/c I was no longer able to make the 2-mile round-trip walk to the post office and you live in a city where walking or driving mail carriers do not exist.

Even further, imagine a city where everyone has a Post Office Box to receive mail, and even worse, YOU MUST PAY $28 to $40 EVERY SIX MONTHS OR YOU LOSE YOUR BOX! After losing your Post Office Box all b/c the government is too lazy to hire anyone to deliver mail in this small yet affluent city despite the fact that according to a highly questionable census report, there are supposedly
something like 4,000+ people living here when there is NO WAY THAT MANY PEOPLE LIVE IN THE CITY LIMITS OF THIS CITY. It's more along the lines of maybe 1000 people, but nowhere even remotely close to 4000+ people! I've heard there's been some dealing by allowing the city to include people who live a mile or two outside of the city limits, which is so wrong I don't have the words to describe my disgust - it'd be censored I'm sure if I actually found the words. But I digress... If you lose your Post Office Box, your mail has to come General Delivery to the Post Office which is a pain in the backside b/c the employee doesn't get to work until 9-whatever, takes a 2-1/2 hour lunch break, and is supposed to be in the post office until 4:30pm but when you show up at 3:45pm, the office is closed and the person who runs the office is gone!

Prior to the point where I wasn't able to walk to the Post Office anymore, I was stuck there until dark because the new person in charge of the Post Office after the previous person retired, was there when the new locks were put into the PO Boxes & the keys for the previous locks were supposed to work but mine and about 3 others couldn't get into our boxes. DH was always worried about me making that little over a mile walk back from the Post Office after they moved in a larger building. Despite the affluent nature of the city, it is also the type where everybody knows everybody else. As I was walking home from the Post Office in the dark, which wasn't anything new to me as I had my guide and we walked the subdivision at night; hwr, our now-retired Police Chief found me walking home and insisted that my guide dog and I get in the police cruiser and he would take us home, as he did many times in the past as well as the future until he retired and moved away to Florida where his wife wanted to go and where her family lived. Chief's only family where their children and given the fact they were grown, they could make up their own minds about where to live; they left for Florida along with their parents. The new chief is equally as concerned about my safety when I am able to walk, b/c he knows I can't walk far.

As for the structure of this area and surrounding areas, you can have one city's phone number, another city's address, and yet your children must attend school at yet another school that doesn't coincide with the phone number or address!

A prime example is the manner in which my longest known friendship with a girl I grew up with off an on when I wasn't moving constantly across the state but mostly up & down the Eastern & Southern Seaboard as far North as Virginia/DC down through the counties and areas of Virginia through each state including Georgia along with Tennessee and the bayous of Louisiana and briefly in Texas. I've attended so many difficult grade schools (K-12) that I forget how many I went to over the years; hwr, no matter where I was, I always wrote to her & sent a little something from where we were at the time and she always wrote me back in return.

Now this girl, who is not a grown woman with a great job and wonderful husband with no desire to have children, used to live with her parents a few roads over from where I lived off and on over the years. She had a phone number from 2 towns over, her address was from a town 3 towns from where she lived, and she attended a school that was in yet another district than her phone number and physical address should have placed her but it didn't. She attended a school that was a K-12 school, as I did as well when back in the area after being gone for a few weeks to several months to a year or more.

So yes, I understand how physical and mailing address can get; however, in all the years I have written others & they have written to me and we each sent letters in long envelopes where folded paper, particularly computer paper, I have never had a piece of mail or a bill I sent in to get lost in the mail. I have had the airline lose my luggage a few times over the many years but it was found easily enough and delivered to my hotel door or at a friend's house when I wasn't staying in a hotel. You could say that the Post Office functions considerably better than the airlines!

As for FED EX, DHL, & UPS, they always get my orders here even though my mail comes via another town's address so the postal carrier of the other town's Post Office can deliver mail to my mail box since my own town doesn't deliver mail to my home. Our previously retired UPS driver was so good at his job that he recognized the name and address on the sorting area, he pulled the box even though everything was right except for the state and zip code, which didn't match anything b/c the state it was to go to didn't have a town with the same name as our mail route is listed and the zip code didn't match anything. He pulled the box and delivered it to our home and it was so heavy it had to be delivered into the house using a dolly. It was car parts for the restoration of a 1981 Corvette, which the UPS man knew my husband was restoring it and before that he restored a 1964 Firebird. He's even restored the 1st car he ever had, which was a gift from his oldest brother & was kept all these years - a Corvair but I can't recall the year of the model. I know it's beautiful since it's been restored although it was a "bleep" to find parts to bring it back to it's former glory & he owns it again now.

In order for me to receive mail in front of my home at the mailbox that was put up, I had to have a letter from my doctor, who passed away a number of years ago but even since then my health as declined; the mayor wrote a letter to the Post Master General in the state's capitol and the Post Master General personally came down to visit the post office in the city where I live, the mayor, the Post Master of the neighboring city that delivered mail within a mile of my home, and to see me. I received permission that very day that it would be set in motion immediately and it was set in motion immediately! Within 2 days, all my mail was changed over to the Mail Box at the driveway by the nearest carrier, who I adore; she is a dear friend and we worked together many years ago in the editing and data entry department of a company that produces the clothing for ball teams as well as the public and they had sales that allowed us to buy the irregular or slight mistakes, some weren't even noticeable. In fact, I work a long sleeve jersey-like shirt over my top but not before I went on the floor of the building and used the measurement equipment during the factory workers' lunch hour to mark then cut the front to make a type of jacket out of it; then I used the overlock machine to sew a seam down the front of each side so it wouldn't begin to unravel and did the same for several other women in the office b/c they didn't have the skill-set to run a sewing machine - let alone one with 12 heads on it! I did the same with a sweatshirt and cut the areas of wrist section and bottom area off then made a seam and sewed it along with the bottom so it wouldn't unravel.

The women in the office gave me this beautiful mug with the Fleur-de-lis & the Saints on it along with a beautiful jacket with The Saints and the Fleur de lis symbol as it is the symbol that's on the jerseys & helmets of The Saints' football gear! I lived in Louisiana. Gertrude Stein was quoted, "America is my country but Paris is my hometown;" this is how I feel about New Orleans, The French Quarter (NYC but I've never lived there, only visited & it's a place like New Orleans & the Quarter where nobody sleeps) My family is my home yet New Orleans & the Quarter will always be my hometowns... The plant, including the data entry/editing department hit a lay-off then we learned the owners were moving the businesses overseas to make them sweatshops! We all made a pact not to buy their clothing again until they brought the company back where US citizens would have jobs. We even signed a petition & left it with the CEO to give to his boss!

I never thought I'd run into the girl who sat beside me in that data entry office again and to meet her at the mailbox that had just been put up! Her son & late husband used to race ethanol-run karts (like the ones where Jeff Gordan drove & got his start into Nascar racing) and we learned that our husbands knew each other and mine knew his son! I raced for a while and did pretty well though I got tagged a few times for nudging the men out of the way but it's like I told the guy who tagged me for nudging - "Rubbing is Racing & if the twerp couldn't handle a woman who could race better than him then he was in the wrong business or the wrong hobby!" The tags on my racing history were removed. And speaking of Jeff Gordan, I knew one of his mechanics and was able to get his autographed photo with my friend standing right there as he signed it using the back of the car to keep the paper straight where he could sign it. My friend put it in an envelope and mailed it to my new address & it arrived here without a hitch & it came regular mail...

It sounds like you need to have a heart to heart or a b/fest with your postal worker about your not receiving your mail! That's just my :2c: worth anyhow...

Yes, it is considered as yelling & in this case, I felt it was more than justified. There are times when you get sick of having something going in one ear & having nothing to stop it from falling out of the other ear with no comprehension as to what you are trying to explain to a person - even online!

I think is was just the all caps. In electronic communication it's considered yelling. Just a guess.

How's that been working for you? Do you find using all caps gets peoples attention? I never take time to read all caps. I also skip extremely long postings.
