short charging cord,,,,

I received a short charging cord with a box of SI X2s and other things from a nice PIF,,,,,,,,

how come this short cord charges my batteries so much faster than the longer ones that came with my X2s???

It doesn't seem to matter which batt I put on the cord,,,,,,,they all charge faster.

any thoughts??

Hey, Holly. My first X2 came with the short, stocky cord. Then they said we could request a longer one at no extra charge, so on my next order, I did. My longer cord, didn't last very long, it got finicky; and I went back to the shorter one. It may simply be that your longer cord has a spot in it that no longer passes the current/voltage well. I'd be interested to hear anyone else's take on this.

I would guess a couple of things may be coming into play. First, the shorter cable may have slightly larger awg wire in it (24awg vs 28awg) and thus would "lose" less voltage within the cable and allow more current to flow to the battery. However, the X2s will only accept a certain amount of charge current and no more. So the effects would probably be negligible. Second, the shorter cable may simply have much cleaner (free of oxidation and vaping gunk) connector contacts compared to the connector contacts on a cable which has been used several times.

hm, I assumed it was an SI cord,,,,,,just the shorter ones they used to give with the X2s.

my longer cords are pretty darned new,,,,,,,so I don't know why they would take longer,,,,,,,although, I agree, they are not as "sturdy" as this shorter cord.
