Should I be concerned about my current vendor requesting mis-shipped juice being shipped back?

I ordered a battery and some cartos from vaporgod.com, and they shipped me someone else's juice order. It's probably nothing to be worried about, but I do not like the idea of perhaps receiving juice that had been accidentally shipped to someone else and shipped back. The bottles have no protection, so the company would have no idea whether I opened and tampered with them or not.

Thank ya,

Did they ask you to ship it back? I am surprised if they did....I would have just taken a photo of it to show I got the wrong order.

Usually a company will of course DUMP this juice. They should not be forwarding that juice to their other customer, so hopefully Vapor God is not going to do that. I have no idea why they wanted it back though. For being inconvenienced, you'd think they would just let you keep it whille waiting for your correct order.

One of the reasons I buy from Mountain Oaks and other vendors now who sell in sealed bottles. :)

You should NOT send the bottles back. You should insist that they fulfill your order.

Legally, if they've sent you something you didn't order, you are entitled to keep it. You do not have to send it back (and you shouldn't, and they shouldn't want you to, for all the reasons you mentioned). EVERY legitimate vendor says that e-liquids, once shipped, are not returnable, and even though this seems like a negative for the buyer, it's actually a positive. The liquid should NEVER be returned.

So, tell the vendor that you didn't get what you ordered, and insist that they send you what you did order. As far as returns go, the most you should give them, if you are willing to please, is a picture of what you got.

Your reply confirms I am not crazy. They didn't specifically request it back, but I mentioned something about sending it back and they said they would send prepaid postage along with my correct order. Perhaps I will from now on deal only with vendors (I'll check out Mountain Oaks!) who ship in sealed bottles.

To twg,

They correctly shipped my order at their usual slow rate, and it is all here correct. They did however give me a prepaid envelope to ship the 3 bottles of juice back in.

Well you can email them and ask if they want it back, sometimes when wrong orders go out they don't always know it's juice and not hardware...these vendors are pretty busy and probably ship out hundreds of orders a week.

If they say yes for some reason, I guess I would dump the juice out and send the labelled bottles out, if you are concerned about it, with a note to that effect.

Seems like that would get your message across.

A friend of mine was once asked to ship juice back to a vendor in order to receive a refund.....even though the vendor admitted they could not re-sell it. That left me wondering why they wanted it back in the first place.

If they made a mistake in good faith and offer return shipping, one is legally obligated to return an item.

Johnson Creek takes juice back. Are they not 'legitimate'?

Well, that's cool! But please don't send them the juice back. If they are reputable, it's just an expensive way to dispose of it. If they aren't (shudder). But it might be just pro-forma, so I wouldn't read anything into it.

Hopefully the juices they sent you are something you would like, if not there's the Pay It Forward forums where you can pass it along!

The decent thing to do is return the wrong item. Concerning the juice it dose seem a little odd for them to request that. Maybe they will use it them selves we tend to think the worst but speculation is just speculation. Id send it back if they went to the trouble to send a pre stamped package.

Sorry, don't mean to pick a fight, but I do think you're mistaken.

Johnson Creek will accept a return of juice THAT YOU ORDERED but that you don't like, and give you a refund. They ask for the liquid back so that they don't get suckered. And I sincerely hope that they would even consider re-selling it. That's legitimate.

However, if I order a $2 pack of pencils, and the vendor mails me a $1500 HDTV, I legally can not only keep the TV, but also insist that they send me the pencils as well. This is because long ago, scam artists did exactly that; someone would order something cheap, and instead get sent something expensive, and when they tried to return it there were all kinds of strings attached. If you are sent something in the mail that you did not order, you are legally entitled to keep it! This is true even if it's an honest mistake. You aren't required to send it back. And in the OP's case, there are very compelling reasons not to.

I think I will explain to them that I would use the juice (Red Hot candy flavored.. sounds pretty freakin good) if they allowed me to keep it. Unless they are 100% fine with me keeping it, I will certainly ship it back. I think I need to find a new vendor with bottles that have some form of tamper protection.

If they sent you a prepaid envelope to send it back, then I would just do that. Yeah, it's a little weird that they would pay to have it sent back but it may have been just an employee just following protocol without thinking about it. I wouldn't order from them again because of fear of them shipping an unsealed returned product to someone else (who could be you).

Thanks for the reply. Any suggestions on vendors with decent prices and decently quick shipping to MD?

Texas select Vapor puts a seal on the juice. If I remember right TVR dose also. 250ml bottles from MBV come sealed. Its sealed so well you have to poke it with something sharp to get it open.

I DIY stuff also single flavors are pretty simple and straight forward. If its a big concern for you it might be a good option if it gives you piece of mind.

Johnson Creek is one of the vendors who have sealed bottles.

CRAVE out of Canada has sealed bottles too, they are both plastic sealed as well as sealed where there's a break-off seal on the cap that you have to twist to break. what are those called again? :) They only sell 0 nic though since they are in canada.

I"m glad you mentioned this, Buzz.

A lot of people looking to get into DIY really overcomplicate stuff when beginning. I know tons of vapers who vape single flavor mixes. For months and years. That is something anyone can do. I myself like a sweet watermelon and all I use is one flavoring. :)
