Should I buy a mechanical mod??

I would like to know where you can get a mech setup that cheaply. Typically, a genuine Kick 2 itself is $45. Add at least $30 for a cheap but decent mechanical mod and you are at $75. There's a lot of regulated mods to choose from for that price.

Artisan Crowns @ $35
Not quite as powerful as the Kick, but enough to hit a sweet spot in most conventional atty builds. I picked up a couple of these...not bad performance but I don't know how long they'll last yet.

SmokTech and Sigelei clones exist as well. I've seen them as little as $12 from US vendors on big sale days. Probably not as good as the Evolv or Artisan units, but should add some flexibility and work well enough to be worth the asking price.

As for the $45 Evolv Kick...my Kick 1 has outlasted several sub $100 VV/VW mods. Liked it so much I didn't hesitate to spring for a Kick 2. The older Kick (ordered the week they came out and used daily since) ended up being gifted to a friend who's still using it daily as well.

My guess is he's speaking of importing a mech and kick kit straight out of Hong Kong.
