Should I clean my clearomizer before first use?

I have had good luck without cleaning clearos first but I think I might start. The primer burning taste is just too gross and I feel it ruins the head forever

Thanks for the input everyone. One more question aboug cleaning: is it ok to get the atomizer/head wet? I've watched a few videos, soms just involvinv shake-rinsing the whole thing (which won't work with the nova's because of the high head) and others with rinsing the whole thing underwater. Wouldn't this damage thr head/atomizer?

I guess I'm asking what kind of disassembly (if any) is required for cleaning...
