Should I send it in?

I've got a little chuck that just 2 days ago started acting funny. I am aware of the switch troubles but I'm not sure when it's "time" to send it in. Here is the issue: the switch does not fire when I press it down, shaking the chuck makes it fire again when I press it. Sometimes I have to press it pretty hard to get it to work and mid-drag the vapor hitting my tongue goes from warm to cold instantly so when that happens I assume the switch has misfired. So what do all of you more experienced chuckers think? Is this cause to go ahead and send it in for fixing?

Ps: my chuck is still pretty new, I have dropped it 3 times thus far but all 3 times were on carpet or my foot (OUCH) and from very low heights.

And also would noalox on the endcap fix this sort of problem? Thanks in advance!

Have you tried different attys ? It could be your atty and not your Chuck ..... check out this thread ....

Hey there, I did test all of my working attys for about 2 hours each. It seems to do it at random. But I am reading that thread regardless.

This is why you need two Chucks.

I've had mine since September of last year.
I've had real or imaginary switch problems twice.

Both times I sent it back and got it repaired.
We all have a one year warranty.

But you have to have a backup if you're going to send it back.

Explain "imaginary switch problems" please? And also, I have a Screwdriver but it just doesn't compare you know?

One time it might have been the switch or it might have been me being stupid.

As you know Xanax, our Little Chucks are just about the same age. I have noticed a hit going hot to cold a few times. In MY case, I believe it to be user error. The switch has to be depressed completely to fire, and taking just the slightest amount of pressure off of the switch will make it stop.

Yes this is true. I feel like my switch may be bad since I've dropped it those few times though, this past time in particular. It just won't fire at all sometimes, no matter how hard I push it then I have to shake it to get it to fire again. I might let it rest for a few days as someone else suggested they thought their switch was bad and let it sit and it started working again. I just don't know if I can survive on a Screwdriver alone lol. As DC2 said, this is why I need two

sounds like the latest fall may be the culprit. If a battery swap doesnt fix the pronlem Id send it in. I was thinking along the lines of it moving the connector inside a bit during the fall and if it got tilted the battery may have wedged it in place and changing the battery may re-seat it all. But if youve already tried that then Im guessing you may have broke the solder to a part....

Ok....Just got my 'lil chuck about 2 weeks ago. I only use it at night as I take auto batteries with me to work to stealth vape.

IT HAS NEVER BEEN DROPPED! I use 808 Cartos and have the built in 808 adapter model made by Jeff.

Started noticing what I thought was lower battery life, like 3-4 hrs on 18350 batts, then hard draw, then hot and cold, ie no vapor, some vapor, etc. Now I have to suck like crazy to get any vapor.

I thought, no prob.....must need to clean the connector just like with the KR808 batteries. The crevices are filthy. I tried cleaning with pin, wet paper towel with vodka, little brush, pin in airholes, etc. Still looks dirty and this is hard to do as the connector is recessed some in the top end cap such that I scratched up the top cap's paint . I don't know what else to do. All this work to clean it and it still is acting the same. Put newly charged batt on and no change.

Im gonna add this....though it may or may not have anything to do with your particular problem. I was having the same exact symptoms you have described here, and was furious....the misfiring, the warm/cold/warm again hits.......having to apply pressure to the button at different angles sometimes made a difference, then it finally just quit firing all together!!!!
For some reason I twisted the button on the chuck...litterally just TURNED THE BUTTON a little...and EVERYTHING was fine(the actual button, not the little nut holding the button)!!!!! Its working perfectly!!! Before I finally figured this out, I was having to push the button so hard that it was actually painfull to get a hit at times....but for whatever reasons, spinning the button just a little cured all of that, a normal amount of pressure now is all it is requiring...no more indentions in my thumb!!!!

Its simple and free and if it doesnt work youve lost nothing, if it works for yours like it did for mine...then you've saved the "ship-repair-return" time of non-chucking.

I hope this works for some of you guys...good luck.

Thanks BDR....already mailed it back. My button hurt my finger to push also, so I had started using the joint of my index finger and hand of the hand holding the Chuck....thus I was pressing it at an angle...maybe it was the button after all.

By the way....Jeff said to put 7$ in the box for the mailback cost.

I've tried turning it already, clockwise. =/
And yeah, I've had to push the button at weird angles to get it to work as well. Turning it clockwise doesn't help no matter how many turns (or how little) I give it.

Mine was doing this, too. Having to wiggle the switch, etc. I saw the post about giving it a little turn and all seems to be good. IDK, if it continues, I think I'll send it in. This is my 2nd switch.
