{EDIT}

Certain pharmaceutical companies see e-cigs as competition that will most certainly cut into their profits, so they wish to have them eliminated entirely. tobacco also sees e-cigs as competition, but a few companies have purchased their own e-cigs companies and wish to monopolize the market via control of how nicotine liquid will be regulated and sold...to their benefit only. Since they have their wallets in the FDA's hands, they stand a good chance to get their wishes.

The FDA already banned e-cigs a few years ago, which was eventually overturned. They likely will attempt to do the same again. The FDA & Deeming Regulations of E-cigarettes

Yes, it is all about money and not so much about consumer safety issues. The end result may not be just about taxes or regulation, but could be an all out ban, as the big money players will come out on top either way.

{EDIT}

You'd think the tobacco companies would want to get in on the e cig market early. Apparently they would rather work towards getting them banned than put some effort into holding a spot in the market

a little birdy that owns a well known juice manufacture and supplier today said that the banned will be on any flavor concentrate from China. what people dont know is that a large number of companys says that there e liquid are made in the usa witch could be true but the flavor concentrate is made over in China. when all this is past the fda will be contacting suppliers and saying they have 15 days to remove the e liquid from there shelves.... but I must say there are a lot of great e liquid companies out there that are making great liquid . but I hope this is not the case on the matter. cigarettes smoking is probably the worst thing you can do to your body. if anything should be banned it should be cigarettes. ill keep my fingers crossed. im just passing on whay was said to me bc its important that the vaping community and fellow vaping family should be in the loop ..........

I'm stocking up as I can. I've only been vaping 4 months but I know the FDA will move sooner or later, probably later. Funny enough, I got freaked out by a Forum thread as I was randomly searching and then I saw the timestamp. 2010. I'm going to start calling it Vaper Rapture. When the Rapture comes, I'll have 2 liters of NIC and gallons of PG/VG. They keep moving the end of the world, dammit!

If this person knows something that no one else knows, he should contact CASAA and tell them what he/she knows.

Funny, but I was about to start a new thread entitled "Stocking up for Doomsday" when I did a search and found this. I guess a lot of us are thinking the same thing: the gov't is gonna step in soon and spoil our fun.

Me, I've been reluctant to purchase high-nicotine liquid (I'm just not in love with the idea of handling or storing the stuff in my home) but if it really looks like the hammer is gonna come down, I probably will. The rest of the ingredients in e-juice are not likely to become impossible to get. As for hardware, I suppose a couple of PVs with replaceable batteries (generic types not specific to e-cigs) and a bunch of tanks, replacement heads, etc. would be a wise purchase. But I can't afford to drop a bunch of cash on assembling a "doomsday stash", so I'm just gonna have to keep my fingers crossed and see how this all plays out.
