For some , vaping is solely a smoking cessation device, nothing more, nothing less. For some, me included it has become a hobby.( if you told me that when I started vaping I would have told you you're crazy)......with that hobby there are many Facets if you will......I enjoy my drippers when i am at home, my subtank 7ml when im out or my Zmax with a carto tank , my eroll when I have the need to be inconspicuous . There are many parallels with other hobbies ie;; photography, firearms, audiophiles , etc......there is a variety of devices for our individual preferences.........my 2 cents:)

Seeing that sub ohm tanks have become big it makes me wonder why people still drip? There is none of the hassle of building coils, it holds juice so you dont have to carry around a ejuice bottle everywhere and it can produce the same vapor as rebuildables. My 3 friends drip and I have been using 0.3ohm atlantis v2 and are clouds come out to about the same, a little more for me actually because I have unusually larger lungs than most people but why drip anymore.
Everyone has an aspect they prefer. One could ask..." Why are there still Cig-A-Likes?"....With all the options and so much better, one has to ask why and the answer is preference. :)

When the atlantis came out i got excited and purchased one. Then a lemo. Then subtank. Then kayfun. Then i decided to stop buying into the tank hype. Nothing compares to an rda imo for flavor or clouds. Ended up with a wall full of useless artifacts. This also includes a bunch of vvvw devices. Only mechs and drippers for me. Oh and the hexohm v2.

Yep preference decides for you which is the better option for YOU. And sometimes cost.....

These sub ohm tanks are great for convienence, but the ease of a dripping atomizer and its cost for long term usage make them a must have.

There are more things to go wrong with a sub ohm tank. If you have an issue with an RDA it's not difficult to target the issue.

Not many people like prebuilt coils either, price of them being one of the downsides.

RTAs on the other hand provide a great vape with the same cost efficiency to maintain, just more of a learning curve.

It's weird, the way I go about things. My friend brought over a Tugboat clone (steamboat by lawless) and asked if I wanted it. I've never tried an rda before so I said sure. I've had experience building coils but never tried dripping before. It took me a couple hours to get it down; proper wicking, when to drip so I wouldn't get dry hits, ect. But I took think knowing I have an RTA (cthulhu) on the way.

I've had my RTA for a few days now and haven't even used my Tugboat clone. To me, the flavor isn't that big of a difference, and it seems like an inconvenience to keep dripping, when I have a tank. Maybe it's just newbies first rda syndrome lol. I'll actually probably build me a new coil for the tugboat in a second and try it out some more. I just don't like having to load my pockets down with juice :(

I've noticed that when I use my drippers, I end up vaping a lot less. I have similar builds in my Derringe and subtank most of the time, but there's definitely a difference in flavor and ease of use. When I used only tanks, I'd go through 7 to 10ml a day. Now I use maybe 3, 5 if I'm off work. YMMV. It's become more of a cigarette experience, only taking drags until I feel it, rather than chain vaping the crap out of my tank lol.

I think you're anticipating where some of the atomizer inventiveness is headed. Some of the best RTAs are really close if not just as good as a typical dripper. While the more exotic RDA builds will likely never find a place in a RTA deck, a plane jane dual coil build is pretty much the same for each. With similar performance, the convenience of a tank wins the race.

I haven't tried many of the new crop of subohm tanks available with factory coils, but I have tried the Kamger Subtank factory coils and while damn good, still not as good as any old dripper or even a well built RBA build installed in the Subtank. For now at least, close but no cigar lol.

I build my own setups and chose tanks that allow me to do that too. The ability to customize my vape is important to me and plug and play heads don't allow that.

it holds juice so you dont have to carry around a ejuice bottle everywhere

When I take a mod with me when I go out it's a bottom fed Reo Grand with a RDA on it, a 6 ml bottle on board and it's the same top quality vape I get with top fed RDAs.

and it can produce the same vapor as rebuildables.

I am not concerned with vapor production. It's all about the whole vape experience for me. I actually have some juice recipes I sometimes take when I go out that produce minimal vapor so I don't make anyone uncomfortable.

but why drip anymore.

I drip because I have full control of the amount of juice on the wicks. The only thing that can go wrong with that setup is it gets gunked up, but that is easy to fix :). The bottom fed Reo Grand is even better at this than the top fed setups.

I also typically have two or three juice bottles with me when I drip. That means I can switch flavors at will or I can mix say 10 drops of one plus 7 of another and 2 of the third. One of them can also have nic in it so I can vary both flavor and TH.

Then there is dependability. RDAs do not draw juice from a tank so that complexity is gone. That aspect of tanks makes their performance more dependent on build and that means their performance is more likely to be affected by a slightly sub-par build than with RDAs.

I don't imagine RDAs will ever not be a part of my vaping tool box but you never know, things change fast in this game.

I've heard nothing but good things about dripping. I love flavour, but doesn't it get annoying if you're dripping every few puffs or am I wrong? How many puffs can you get from dripping before you have to drip again?
If you've got a deep well in your dripper, I've found that it lasts about as long as a cigarette. Perfect time for me personally.

Like what has been said before, I drip for flavor, flavor, flavor! I don't care how big my cloud is but at .5 ohms, it's plenty big enough for me. Just let me have that flavorful ah ha moment. I have some of the top sub ohm tanks because I've heard how great they are, but they still aren't really used and I turn to my RDA's.

Every type of vaping has pros and cons. Dripping is a complete hassle, bottom feeding is messy as h@ll and the old juice running back into the bottle isn't cool, really it isn't.Tanks are a really good way to vape, I'm not talking Sub Tanks and Atlantis's I'm talking .2 ohm dual coil large juice channel tanks like a Cthulhu. All the clouds and flavour of a Dripper, bottom feeder with out the hassle of dripping or the mess of BF'ing & the brown juice bottle.
Everyone is going to have there favourite way to vape and thats great, after all were all individuals and like what we like :)
So vape how you like and don't try to tell others the way they vape is wrong cause it's not, it all about personal preference
Personally my favourite is the Kay-fun V4 on NI 200 around .1 ohm Flavour is on point, top fill is great and no mess or leaks to speak of. Just My Opinion :)

I have a couple of Mutation X RDAs that hold a lot of juice in the juice well. When I fill one up I can take around 15 2-3 second drags at 50 watts before I need to drip again. The higher the watts the quicker you vaporize juice. IMO it may be roughly a linear relationship.

I think trends in the latest RDAs are for bigger drip wells, but I'm not really up on the latest RDAs so take that with a grain of salt. Good reviewers do comment on this though so you should be able to get a feel for it with various RDAs if you're aware of it.
