Hey VSummer and Funky! Can you hear the chains rolling up on the capstans? The jib unfurling and fluttering in the wind? The creaking of the floorboards as the last loads are hoisted aboard? Sometime tomorrow, "Paid" will likely become a tracking number, and she's going to turn her bow against the wind, and start heading for this distant shore! WOO HOO!!! Happy Sailing guys!! I sure hope she makes the voyage home before I head off on vacation, but if not, it'll be nice to come home to that long awaited envelope! Going to be close, but hope springs eternal!

Jager, little update. If you use the link I showed and put your tracking number in, there is another tab marked "Select Country". That is where you put in the destination country, which unfortunately in your case, was Brazil. Select "Brazil" and you will see that your package arrived at a place called the Unidade de Tratamento Internacional. I did a little searching, and found this forum where folks talk about how inefficient this place is at getting packages back on their way, often taking MONTHS. It is here:
Living in Brazil: Can anyone tell me what this package status means?

Looks like they received it 10/26/2012, almost 7 weeks ago.
So, you MAY want to send that info to Pedro, since he speaks Portuguese and they also do in Brazil (different dialect, but close) and perhaps HE can contact them and find out just exactly WTH is going on with your Caravela.

Also, once they deliver it to USPS, USPS will assign their own tracking number to it. You might try calling USPS and see if there is any way to find out if THEY have received it, and what that new tracking number would then be. Sounds like there are more than a couple of A$$clowns at that Brazilian facility. It may yet show up, but I would watch that tracking website and see if there is any further movement.

thanks Mou..i know all that already (minus the specifics on that facility)...and have already been in discussion with Pedro...

the tracking info has not moved since the 26th (i believe) of October. I am awaiting updates from Pedro about a new one being made.

That still does not change the fact that we are rapidly approaching 4 months and i keep seeing people in lists after mine getting their devices. I am not mad, i am frustrated...yes mail can be frustrated but that doesnt change that it has almost been a 1/3rd of a year...which woudlnt be bad if others had not received theirs either

I am a patient person and have been polite the whole time...but i will not try to push it off as if i am happy with it or that it should not be happening.

Simply, i am a customer, i have paid for items and they did not come...that is not my fault yet i am the one that has to deal with the fault. When they do arrive (even if being made again), i will be happy but that happiness is marred as i know my personal business was not clean and fast and nice...and when people ask me about the service i can not say it is good

should i be reimbursed in some small way for my lack of equality when it comes to shipping and delivery? Well, i dont see why i should have to pay the same shipping fee that everyone else pays when my item is not delivered. shipping woes happen...btu that does not change the fact that i have paid for somethign that has not arrived. shoudl i be discounted on the price of the PV? Well, i paid the smae amount as everyone else, yet i still do not have the device and others who ordered after me do...i do not live in the middle of nowhere and i have not been impolite in any way.

I know Pedro is working on a replacement (i have been in contact), and i know he will send it out again...but why should i have any confidence that it will arrive? in my experience i should not

I will be lambasted now undoubtedly about patience and optimistic retorts...also remarks on the quality being "worth it"...then perhaps even attacks about my character and attitude in this post and how "this stuff happens" and it is in some way an "ok" experience.

You will be wrong to make any of those statements...

i am not "angry"...if i sound harsh....i am not..i am clear and straightforward...if that seems antagonistic, you are wrong...i own the meaning to my words... "how" the words are READ...is entirely in the readers domain as i have no control over it...but if explicitly express my intentions and they are not followed that is YOUR fault...

Mistakes happen all the time, but in a business, the business is the one that should be the one to pay for them...not the customer..remaking my PV is not a present or gift...it is what shoudl be done regardless of the mistake...

Your frustration is understandable. It is both desirable, and expensive and you've commited to both. We ALL feel terrible for your frustration in the face of our good fortune (well, I haven't GOT mine yet, so I don't know). I can apply your experience to my own with other products, and know exactly where you are coming from. Perhaps Karma will be good to you for your patience, and you will receive both your replacement, and eventually, the original. I think Pedro is the kind of guy who would want you to keep it and enjoy both for your trouble, patience, and wait. I have yet to see anyone criticize you for your obvious frustration, I think everyone who wants a Caravela certainly understands.

To be clear though, your package shipped 7 weeks ago. We all will wait 3 or 4, so you are at a month, not 3, of extra waiting. Your complaints are valid, but skewing of the facts take something away from your words. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

i was put into the active list on the 23rd of September (i had originally been on a later list and had been bumped up due to payment not being received by another person on the list)

As of today, it is the 11th of December. Even if it is shipped today (which it will not be) and i have to wait (as you just said) 3-4 for more weeks. that will put us around January 11th (with holidays).

111 days total/30 = 3.7 months

but that is all besides the point....it shipped 7 weeks ago as you said...yes...and all of you get 4 weeks for delivery (your high end). Leaves me closer to 3 weeks overdue... add in the next 4 weeks (your high end)...and i am at BEST 7 weeks (if sent today)... It is more likely to be at least another week until it ships...putting me square at 8 weeks total OVER the time allowed... which is a far cry a little overdue...and a solid 2 months extra of wait than everyone else who has ordered...

and again, i stress this, i have no problem with being patient, but when i see other lists after mine going out...and those people getting their devices ahead of me...that is when i get frustrated and bothered by the ordeal...there is no reason i should be forced to deal with this for this excessive amount of time. It is very rude to say or think i shoudl just accept it and be happy with it...

if i get the device 4 months (which looks to be the minimum at this point) after it was placed in the active list...then i am goign to say it took 4 months... and i will clearly and loudly say it took a good 2 months longer than it should have...

if you ordered a brand new car and it said it woudl be shipped to you in the summer of 2013...and it is the winter of 2013 when you finally get it...AND you see other people with the exact same car from the exact same dealer you ordered from who ordered it after you driving it around in the fall...well i think you woudl be a little frustrated and being justifiably left feeling just a bit rudely and unfairly...regardless of all the reasons or excuses why

it will have been 4 months...i am not exaggerating... i am fine with saying 2 months longer than everyone else...but to me that sounds just as bad or worse... so please do not downplay my extra waiting period because i am the one dealign with it and know exactly how long it has been

I asked about an option to send in a different manner to make the shipping not mess up again..he said he would not..perhaps he did not understand, but it was not even an option I was given the opportunity to pay for...FedEx and UPS are everywhere so i dont think it is that big of a deal...i know he normally doesnt ship that way...but he has already lost one package of mine using his method...at some point i feel i need some satisfaction to my specific problems....and as for keeping the other one IF it ever arrives...that would be nice but i doubt it ever happens and was not offered regardless so i will not assume, nor should anyone else, i should keep it unless the maker says so

I do not loathe Pedro...but i am frustrated with the shipping ordeal and the lack of expedience, reimbursement, and changes offered to thwart a re-occurrence

again...i am frustrated...and while there is some compassion about the ordeal there is very little empathy...excuses and optimism is not empathy...

Pedro has a genesis atomizer with caravela native threading in the works. I'll have a beta device sometime in the next month or 2, so with Pedro's consent, I will make a review or at least a breakdown of it for my youtube channel.
Beautiful mod! Hope they make a genesis hybrid.
