i got a hold of him yesterday in PMs...he said the #155 will be sent this week. But you never know really.

The shipping wont be any different, as he said he has already lost money on my PV and that i and he have bad luck. Also he said it would be like 80Euros to send via UPS. I even offered to split the cost of different shipping.

I am mostly worried that this will happen again and not only will we both be unlucky but he will have lost more of his money and time and i will have lost my time and PV again.

You dont need to contact him, i am sure he is already frustrated enough with my order. I am just wanting this to be over.

I want to get it and feel happy, but iknow i will only feel relief...and the amount of time i have spent desiring, ordering waiting, waiting again for 30days to see if truly was lost, then waiting again for it to be made, then waiting more for it to be shipped again, and now worrying it wont arrive, is starting to truly tarnish my opinion of the whole experience AND the device.

Ok, it's good that he got back to you. Of the 400 or so Caravelas that have gone out, yours is the only one to get lost, and that was right at the peak of the hurricane shipping chaos, so I'm confident that it'll get to you safely this time.
I really gotta implore you to keep an open mind about the device itself though! I know it's been a ..... and a 1/2 getting it, but they really are some of the most elegant and best performing mechanical mods on the market right now.

80 euros equals about 106.00 that makes no sense to spend that kind of money for shipping. Since signature is required, seems someone who had custody of the package probably stole it somewhere along the line.

Further it wouldnt make sense for Pedro after making you another Caravela would split cost of shipping and pay 40.00 more to send it to you.

No worries, Pedro will make sure you get one. After you get it and you dont want it - put it on classies, it will be gone in less than 10 minutes.

The other ones that went out then seemed to have made it to their places. Mine never went to NY, it got stuck in Brazil, and stayed there for a month (and hasnt moved since) before Pedro would consider replacing it.

As for ignoring me...he replied in email to me about not getting my email because it was in the spam folder, so i replied back "no problem" along with some other things i thought i would get a response from. Only when i went and PMd him on the .pt forum (6 days later) did i get a response . I dont tend to like to send message on forums to makers as they are undoubtedly under a barrage of them. Therefore when i sent and had email correspondence i thought that a better means of communication.

Also, why does it make "no" sense to have it shipped in a different way?

The way it was shipped before did not work, we dont know why. I offer to pay half of the extra shipping why is that so far from good business practice and would make "no" sense. Wouldnt showing a little bit of compassion via doing something a little extra for customer satisfaction be warranted?

Just because a signature is required doesnt mean it wont go through the exact same path, and be messed up again? why not send it to not only be sure it wont happen again, but also to give the customer some satisfaction that you re doing everything you can to make things right?

That is not bad business, and if it is and truly makes "no" sense...then why is that how plenty of businesses act in the same situation?

For example, i bought some headphones on Amazon, they shipped to me, i got them...they were broken inside the box. I call em, they say send it back, and they sent me a new pair overnight delivery at no additional cost. That has happened in varying ways to me, and i am sure to most people.

Also, i dont appreciate you insinuating that i dont understand the quality or value of the device.

Just because i am having some difficulties with my receipt of the device, and those difficulties may tarnish my opinion of it personally, that does not change the quality or worth of it. And NOWHERE along this thread and my replies have i acted in such a way to warrant that type of insinuation.

I respect Pedro and his work. That does not mean i will not have some frustrating memories attached to the device once i receive it.

I also..respect the crap out of you Dspin...and i thought you at least held me in a respectful enough light not to insult me like that. Your last two responses have been very vindictive. I have NO problem with you, never had, though you seem agitated with me for expressing my concerns. I have always held you in high regards, i appreciate you liking your service and expressing it, but in my case, things are not smooth and my case has just as much validity to be expressed.

I AM NOT UPSET, i am frustrated and rightfully so...i am not questioning his actions with other people...i am HAPPY that no one else has had a problem, but i have...and i am allowed to be frustrated by that and express it.

I guess i wont post on here anymore, as it seems my issues area problem in and of themselves...sorry for bringing them up

I am still very excited about the #155 and you will NEVER see it for sale...

My magnets are out for delivery, so I'll have some updates for everyone regarding how many fit, how consistently the switch performs, and maybe even a chart comparing the voltage drop between the magnets and the spring. I've been meaning to do an updated review of the Caravela for my YouTube channel now that I have all 3 different drip tips and battery tubes, so I suppose it'd be worthwhile to tie in a segment on the magnets while I'm already in front of the camera.
Sure ... and they have automatic 15% off for the holidays.
It shows on the final page before you pay.

Don't worry about! If nobody had explained using magnets in an ecig switch to me, I don't think I'd have figured it out.
So the basic idea is to use several magnets with their polarities reversed in place of a spring in the button. The advantages here are a harder hitting device and a more comfortable throw, but that's really a matter of personal preference, though personally, I've always found magnetic buttons have a smoother feel to them, it almost feels like the button is gliding as you press it, b/c there's no spring rubbing up against the post of your switch, and as long as you don't break em, the magnets will never need replacing or any substantial maintenance.
This is my first mechanical. Can you please tell me what the magnets are for? Sorry so naive.

vsummer, funky, or anyone whose order shipped to USA on or around 12/10/2012, is anyone getting any other tracking result besides the cryptic "origin post is preparing shipment"?

I've been wondering too how everyone elses packages are coming along... I got my shipping info Sunday the 16th, still in Lisbon. I was thinking about watching others' tracking numbers to get an idea how long it takes.. New Years would be nice but probably overly optimistic...

Love the magnet research people are doing... May order some to try....

Got the magnets in today, and I LOVE it!

I put 4 in the button, 2 on each side, and the action is really smooth and easy now.
The magnets aren't the strongest, I definitely can NOT stand the Cara up without firing, but it's nice and easy on my pinkie.
I will try 5 mags in my other one .... anyone know if configuration makes a difference?
3 and 2 .... 1 and 4, etc?

I am getting the same message, but it looks like one made it home! There is hope yet...

Just picked some up too...
I've also been trying to find some small magnets to use as adjustable fill screws for my gennies... I have been thinking if I use small disc magnets, I can control air flow just by sliding it slightly to the side. Beats leaving the fill screw loose to get a little air in there.. I couldnt find any the right size until you guys shared the page... At only 25 cents each, I bought ten 5mm and ten 4mm.. Thanks!

I just got a package, and it went from "Lisbon" on the 10th, on the CTT site, straight to "Delivered" the 18th on USPS, with nothing in between.

I see you just got parts, right? I wonder if the full mods take longer to clear in customs because of the weight and shape...
Its kind of odd, but it seems any packages I order clear customs quickly... I wonder if they scrutinize it less in NY if the ultimate destination is also New York...?
