Yep...you've had some good results there Rob :)

Have you heard of Romain Brault, he's a french specialist in wood and does some amazing polishing work to finish people's mods off....

He does just the polishing and he also does a clear coat finish that keeps the finish so it won't dull of damage if it gets wet ......I haven't used him because I think I can get similar results myself....but may be of interest for you :)

My 1 of 1 Luna with an Atmizoo Creek rda and both the MTL kit and Ultem kit.
The Creek also has a top cap locking design. It can only be removed by lining up the large AF hole.
I really like the Luna a lot and will be getting a second one soon. Like 4th of July sales soon.

Creek is on my wish list. I have 4 Lunas and love them. So easy, great in the hand. Not to mention beautiful and so affordable.

Love the Creek, impeccable machining and great flavor.

Ultroner Mini Stick (just arrived), wearing a doggystyle tank:

Already has a nicely polished finish, so no need of micro-meshing this time.
I couldn't resist and have just ordered one from FT. It comes as a kit with a flavour banging single coil rda on it. I had just watched a review by Mr Todd and if he's impressed with something you know it's a goody :)

Hope you are still enjoying yours. I don't know whether you know but the stabwood part just slides off the internal tube if you need it too....i'll be doing it if mine needs poloshing but if it's like yours was then probably not...

Have a great day....

Love the Creek, impeccable machining and great flavor.
The Creek is my favorite. Flavor wise it put others I have to shame. I loved my first one so much that within a week I had a second. Totally agree with the machining and flavor. The design too.

Qorax has a really nice video on the Creek. You probably saw it.

Atmizoo is a fine company to do business with. In my experience they always have items in-stock. Super fast shipping, was 3 days from placing an order to my home.

Next up for me is their new RTA the Tripod. It is getting much love out there. The build deck looks like a perfect blend of the Kayfun 5 and Dwarv decks. Tripod | vaping modware by atmizone

I love this RDA. It's a single coil and very easy to build on. It has top airflow, the channels going from bottom up so it's impossible to over squonk. It has a locking system that adjusts the top airflow and the RDA also locks into place when fully on. As far as drip tips any 810 fits because they changed it with the version 1.5, it doesn't have the o'ring on the drip tip like the older version. The flavor on it is amazing too and I was thinking of getting this RDA for another squonker I have.

Great review of it- thanks. It sounds like a RDA for me. Now if I can find it on sale!!!

Having a slight issue with an SL Class stabwood, I just can't get it to an even shine all over. After micro mesh it's shiny all over, after polishing it's a bit patchy and sort of satin finish in places.

Am I correct in thinking that there may be an issue with the resin used to stabilize?

All of my stabwood mods are shinier on the resin portion of the stabwood. I suppose if you put several layers of clear coat it may reduce the difference.

What are you using for the clear coat! I’ve been using layers of water based poly hardwood finisher with light sanding in between. So far I’m thrilled with the new ya it looks and feels. Not sure how well the water based poly will last but so far so good.

Hi @Fidola13 hope you're having a good day?

Sounds like you're using the proper technique...it's definitely a good idea to put a finishing coat or something on...at the very least some beeswax.

It's not me that is using the clear coat but Romain Brault who does lots of amazing finishing work for modders here in France. I'm not entirely sure what he uses but I think its a cerakote in clear so will last a lifetime...Hope that helps but if you want to know more I can ask him?

I've just bought an ultroner mini stab so will be able to join the guys here soon if only in a tres petit way.... :p:D

I watched that review yesterday. He liked it but the lack of info about it sure made him mad. It was darling.

The mod is darling, too. I've coveted it since I first saw it.

I'm quite taken by this one, too. Do you know about Mark Todd's latest charity raffle? One lucky soul will win a Tripod, a Haku Riviera, and a Regadillo. Plus, even if you lose, you'll have donated to a good cause.

I plan to win, of course.

My stabwood SL has one small matte patch. I'm very nervous about trying to fix it, for fear that I'll mess up the nicely polished wood surrounding it. Even if I isolate it with tape, the micro mesh pads I'm using wear away tape quite quickly, as I learned when I inadvertently buffed away some of the black on my Luna. I just resigned myself to have black and silver on it and have dispensed with the tape entirely, but I'd hate to hurt the finish on the SL.

Yes I've joined the raffle .....someone is going to be a very happy man or woman...some stunning prizes.

I love the ultroner too but have had no romantic thoughts about Mr Todd recently :lol::lol:

Won't the SL come apart....the ultroner just has a stabwood ring like a napkin ring which pulls off a ss tube? If you can get the base off you should be able to pull the stab off too :)

Hey, my crush is sisterly. Or perhaps auntly (why don't we ladies have our equivalent of "avuncular"?).

And, oy, such a prize! I would be thrilled indeed. But I never win nuttin', so I'll have to be satisfied with the points accrued in the credit column of my heavenly ledger.

It may, but since I'm worried about messing up the finish surrounding the matte portion of the wood, it wouldn't help me even if it did. I think I'll just learn to love the SL, warts (well, wart) and all.

I was only pulling your leg :)

Well we've all got a chance to win and somebody will.... If you never win anything I hope it's you...
