I shared my beauty in the Asmodus Owners thread but don't think I shared it here. It is the prettiest thing I have ever seen - as far as mods go. ;)

Is there some reason polyurethane couldn’t be used? I guess that just seems like an obvious choice to me, but then my husband worker for a time refinishing furniture, and we re-did all the hardwood downstairs

I think it can be. I have a water based poly I’m thinking of trying on one side of one of the stabbies. I can sand it if it doesn’t work I suppose.

Yeah, it's super common in certain parts of the world but exotic everywhere else. In France, one of my teachers laughed at it: Saintonge is the name of a former province but the surname doesn't exist there. He felt the way someone here might feel meeting a person named Nathan New York.

Have you ever experienced the genius of Mme St. Onge? She's a marvel.

I'm listening to her now. My cats find her voice very disturbing.

Have any of you seen Florence Foster Jenkins with Meryl Streep?

Smoant Battlestar in Stabwood. Not feeling it at all. especially the wood which doesn’t look like any stabilized wood I’ve seen b4 and price at $175. But to each his own. vaping and personal preference is what it’s all about.
tbh i wouldn't buy this the blocks in the photo look cheap

just my opinion too mate ;)

I love the finish on my Lunas. Very matte, but completely smooth and consistent. I’m really pretty surprised. I think they’d look good in semi-gloss but I’d hate to screw one up trying to achieve it.

That’s like one of my EOS IIs. Such a pretty and velvety soft finish. It’s staying as is. I wouldn’t want all of my stabwoods to have the same finish. I
Like variety. But some just seem to scream out - polish me!! Lol!! It makes the colors and depth really pop. Almost 3-D appearing in person. I’m glad I took the chance. I just need to finish one side of the purple/blue Thor. The 2nd pink Thor is staying as is. The finish and color already look great on it.

Can anyone recommend the best place to get micro mesh from, as I have a mixed stab SL Class that needs some TLC.

And I'm UK based.

And @Fidola13, you can recommend it for tired and uneven looking stabwood?

100%. Do a google search or better yet check out the stabwood thread on VU where they go into details like I mentioned in the beginning of this thread. You’ll be absolutely stunned at some of the before and after pics of posters stabwood mods plus I posted a few of my own.

Micro mesh has their own website and this also gives details into how to use their products.

Micro-Mesh® Soft Touch Pads - Individual -MICRO-SURFACE FINISHING PRODUCTS, INC

Renaissance polish is recommended by almost every one to finish the project.

Both can be found on Amazon in the US so check the UK Amazon. I believe Renaissance Polish is made in the UK and is used in the National Museum to protect and preserve many of the items.

Make sure to take lots of before pics!!!

Most importantly Enjoy the Process!!

My SL has a small rough/matte patch. How can I make it match the rest of the finish?

Zazie- You sure can smooth it out beautifully by using the micro mesh pad method i keep yakking on about lol!

You can just tape off that area or blend it like I did then follow the instructions. It will be smooth as a baby’s bottom when you’ve finished it!! The key is to just take your time. Start slowly.

I nearly had a heart attack when I started my 1st mod the EOS II. I was positive I had ruined my beautiful mod but nope. It’s gorgeous now.

I’d be happy to walk you through it or I’m sure anyone else here that has experience with it.

Honestly the difference is stunning. If you look at the before and after pics of my Thor it was just the top part (the wood area) that was dull and rough. That’s the only part I polished. Now it blends in with the rest of the mod.

I forgot to take a b4 photo but you can see how dull the wood is on the other side. That’s how it looked. Then you can see how shiny and smooth it was afterwards. I just started the 2nd side.

Unpolished side.

Other side area that was dull and rough. Now after polishing...
