I love pits! They get such a bad rap because of horrible owners. If I wasn't renting an apartment I'd have one. Don't get me wrong...Prince has tons of energy lol, but I'd love to have a nice back yard when I get ready to adopt more animal children.

I know what you mean! My bro. Had a pit bull and 2 of his girls were little at the time and they were all over that dog ( you know how little ones can be) and that dog never growled at them or anything. He might lick them like he was grooming them but he was very gentle. Sadly one night during a bad thunderstorm, the tree next to Peewee's dog house was struck by lightning and it ran down the tree and killed him. My bro. was so broken up over that.

I'll try to get some good pics of my furry kids to upload soon but in the meantime I'll tell you what I have.
First is Samantha, my pet possum. ( She's my avatar).
Then there are my 3 cats, Cookie (my boy), and my girls Candy and Sugar.
There is Gizmo, my boy chihuahua.
Madeline, my caique.
Emma, our outside dog, she's a blue healer.
2 beagles, Rascal and Lady (I think she might be pregnant)
And our biggest pet is a 1500 lb. cow named Lucy. We have several cows but Lucy is the only one that is a pet. We had to bottle feed her as a calf and so she just thought she was one of the family.

The first pic it of my possum babies, that is how small they were when we got them. Unfortunately my boy possum died but as you can see Samantha is still doing good.
The two cats are Cookie (in the back) Sugar (in the front).
and 2 pics of Samantha now.
and the calico cat is Candy along with our chihuahua, Gizmo.

Awe, your Sasha is a Beautiful girl, what a sweet face!

OMG A Possum? How cool, I live all the critters too. I'd LOVE to have a pet skunk someday, but I don't think DH is gonna go for that :(

Here's my Halo. He is a wolfdog (wolf/Malamute hybrid) this was a couple of months ago when we had just moved him to a new play yard (where he stays when we need him not to be in the house) and he was just starting to dig his new den. (first pic is him telling me I can't sit on HIS couch LOL )

Yes there is heavy wire along the outer edged of the pen to prevent him digging out, and, convince him the den goes in the center of the sleeping area - there is a half acre running yard for him attached to the sleep area you see in the picture.

He's a shy creature with anyone except family and, a big love bug once he knows you, takes him months of seeing someone around to decide he knows them enough to even allow them to pet him - that's a wolfdog for you. :)

Wow, what a handsome boy. Is he still a puppy?

My SIL had a wolf Shepard mix (Trouble) He had to be the coolest Boy ever, so incredibly smart. But he NEEDED a strong hand as a pup hahaha a wild child.

Well, he's 18 months old, a wolfdog isn't full grown until 3 years so, I suppose it depends on how you define "puppy"

They do need a strong hand, not because they are intentionally bad or hard to handle but, they are very high energy with an unstoppable hunting drive, they have twice the jaw strength of even a pit bull and, get bored easily as pups.

As the joke goes, housebroken with a wolfdog hs nothing do with where the wolfdog goes to the bathroom and everything to do with the actual condition of your house. Lave one alone indoors for a couple of hours and, you will know what housebroken means. (Furniture, doors, walls and carpet chewed, shredded and in small bits all over the house.) LOL

They are smart and, very trainable, if you understand how to train them and, not at all vicious - they are lousy guard dogs. A wolfdog will hide and let a thief take everything you own so long as they don't try to take you too - material things mean nothing to them, but their pack means everything and, you are their pack.

Oh yeah, 18mo BIG Puppy :) I absolutely agree, they are great dogs and BUSY pups..(not bad or mean) Thankfully Trouble was raised with a bunny
So he learned early on to be gentle with all small creatures. He would catch rabbits small and large as a fully grown dog and bring them home. Poor rabbits never had a wound or injury on them but they tended to have heart attacks :( and he was always sad for it.

He still is one of my all time favorite dogs.

We did have a pet skunk about 23 years ago. But we never could afford to get her descented, so we eventually had to set her free. Skunks are very much like cats except a bit more destructive. They will pull up linoleum and carpet in the corners to try to find bugs to eat, that's what they eat in the wild, they will also dig around in any cabinet they can get open looking for bugs. My parents had the sister to the one I had and they did have her descented but skunks will always have a bit of a smell even after being descented, kinda like a mink or a farret. Skunks do make very fun pets and they are very loving.

I do love all animals but I'm partial to cats, if DH will let me, the next pet we will get is a Savanah. My daughter and I both want one. But hubby says we have enough plus they are a bit expensive.
