Hey all,

Well I have started to vape properly in the last 6 or 7 days. I don't know if I am looking for advice or just wanting to share my own side effects so others can compare and contrast.

Admittedly I have not fully stopped smoking. I have been smoking about 5 - 10 cigarettes per day but the number is decreasing every day.

So perhaps the most significant side effect I've had is fatigue. Over the last few days I've been feeling tired. My eyes have felt sore and dry and I've had to use eye drops. My eyes never get this sore. This might be due to the fact that I have not really bothered keeping the vapor away from my face as I've carried the notion (perhaps wrongly) that it does not matter if vapor is swirling around your face and eyes the way smoke does. I've even been vaping in the car with the windows closed. I kind of like seeing the vapor swirling around in a way that we, as smokers, never could.

The other main side effect comes as no surprise. I am feeling jittery and I notice that when I hold my fingers steadily, they shake. I know this is due to the combined effect of vaping 24 mg and continuing to smoke at the same time.

One side effect that has surprised me is the way my tongue feels chaffed and sore. My sense of taste has diminished a bit and my tongue feels like I've scraped it with sandpaper. I was sort of expecting the opposite effect where I expected my taste to improve and my mouth to feel a little fresher.

Drink tons of fluids! Preferably water. And when I say tons i mean pregnant women double your amount liquids and see if the dry itchy eyes and dry mouth go away. Also I wouldn't recommend vaping constantly with the windows up. Try venting and see if that helps. Also, beware if you get a running/stuffy nose. Vaping + Smoking so I have heard leads to that problem. Happy vaping!

Anthony, it sounds to me like you are experiencing problems with PG, in terms of the dry mouth and irritation. Happened to me and many others here. Try some VG juices. I find that if my juices have more than about 10% PG (the amount that would be present in an actual flavoring, as most flavors are PG solutions), then I get chronically dry and chafed mouth, and after a while sores. Many vendors here sell VG juices, or you can make your own DIY (what I do).

Also, I would try to avoid smoking while using 24 mg juice. That's way much nic, and yes you will get jittery and shaky, or worse. It does take time to get away from analogs, so be patient. If you are unable to quit them after a few more weeks, it may mean that you are craving the other tobacco alkaloids besides nic. This is my personal experience, and one that many here also experience, and there are other alternatives, such as swedish snus. I don't want to jinx your progress, and congrats to that, but not everyone here is successful with just vaping. The low energy, often constipation, feeling down, are considered withdrawal from all the other stuff in tobacco. Nic is not the whole picture, by any stretch.
