I am fairly new to the vaping world myself (2 months) and had headaches in the beginning. I have noticed they have subsided, I don't know if it was from kickin' analogs or what. I haven't had many problems since, I would say give it some time. My advice is give it some time, I know I have much satisfaction in knowing I've slowly but surely kicked the nasty habbit. I now love vaping. Good luck!

11mg is a low nic level. With your being a heavy smoker I am wondering if your not vaping enough to counteract the nic withrdrawls from the cigs. I was a 1.5 PAD smoker for over 20years. I started with 24mg for the first 6months with no symptoms other than a dry mouth. Just try adjusting your nic level and see if that helps.

Kathy that sounds to me like you are over doing it. I have gotten the same results by constantly vaping, like vaping my face-off vaping, with a nic concentration that was higher than I should have been using. It has happened to me a few times, once when I went to a brick and mortar store and was trying out all the delicious flavors at 24mg, five seperate occasions when I was hanging out with friends talking/drinking/vaping too much at 18mg. And more recently when I had a rough day at work in my car on the ride home at 10mg.... I have vaped now for over a year, my tolerance to nic has been gradually lowering itself for quite some time. When I began vaping I started at 24-30mg used 3-5ml per day I now am using the same amount of liquid at 10mg. You will find your stride, until then if you start to feel....my best descriptor is "blek" take a break for your body to process the nic and you should quickly regain your composure. Mine usually subsided in about twenty minutes almost like clockwork. Good Luck. Happy Vaping(while staying in-tune with yourself).

Sounds like maybe you are getting too much nicotine overall due to the chain vaping, but maybe not enough of a "kick". I kinda felt that way on the patch due to the constant nicotine feed. Try upping the nic content on your e-liquid to get more of a kick when you do vape, combined with adopting more of a routine where you take 10-12 good hits (like having an analog), then put the darn thing down for awhile ... put it in another room or something. Then when you feel a craving ... repeat.

Headaches, nausea, and shakiness are all symptoms of withdrawal from cigarettes. You may want to take a look at this thread to see the symptoms of cigarette-detox and the symptoms of vaping and compare to get a good guess as to what's occurring to you: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...hen-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.html

In my case, I was a 1.5 PAD smoker for about 25 years, although I smoked light tobacco. I've been mostly comfortable at around a 16-18mg strength, although there's been a couple times where I vaped a little excessively (because I loved the flavor, actually!) and had a bit of insomnia. You may actually be a bit low on your nicotine intake right now, but your body can and will adjust if that's the level you want to be at -- it may just be a little uncomfortable at first.

Kathy_P Some of the more experienced members have said it many times here to use a stronger nic level in the morning briefly to quell the morning needs, a mid level through out the day, and even lighter after evening meal to alleviate some outrageous night time dreams. I agree, and I'm new. But from what you said, you might be overdoing it a bit. Hopefully you will get into a rhythm and be fine.

I'm new to vaping. 2 weeks to be exact. I was a heavy smoker for30 years. I started with the 11 mg menthol. I've found myself vaping constantly. I've had really bad headaches and a quizy stomach. I've also been real shaky. I read several tjings on this.
too much or too little? Anyone else have this problem in the beginning?

does it go away/

Couple of unknowns here I'd factor in: you were a heavy smoker of *what*? (Carlton ultrawimpyextralightmenthol or Philip Morris Commando non-filters?) Also, are you drinking lots of water? Have your eating habits changed? I'm kind of surprised nobody mentioned it but vaping does tend to dehydrate you so we need to drink a lot of water. Also (and this is probably just me) I've found not smoking increases my tendency to forget to eat. (I have no idea why this is.)

I like the idea of having different nic levels for different times of the day, especially a lower one for chain-vaping sessions at the computer. I try to do that myself; my reg. vape is about 3.5mg so I don't want to be hitting that too hard. As I think someone said, pay attention to what your body's telling you & it should level you out shortly. Meantime, Happy Vaping! :vapor:

I haven't been vaping long but so far my side effects are saving a buttload of money, quitting tobacco, smelling better, breathing better, not freezing my heiny off out in the garage where I had been relegated to, and all around just feeling better. I had a problem with ringing in my ears due to sinus issues and now the ring has come down quite a bit. I'm still new but I'm hoping that it goes away entirely which would make it all worthwhile. I'd pay triple if that could happen. Believe me when I say there is no worse a fate on this earth than tinnitis. It's maddening.

Hi Kathy

You have two things going on here: Quitting smoking and starting vaping. For some of us sorting out what's what in the first few weeks takes some work. Some of the symptoms you are experiencing have been attributed to either so here's my take on it:

I had mild headaches during those first couple weeks. I attributed that more to quitting smoking than anything else. They were mild, pretty chronic - and they did go away.

Shaky, jitters, punchy, no attention span? Classic smoking cessation symptoms for me - all too familiar from previous quit smoking attempts. Keep in mind when you quit smoking that it's not just about the nicotine. Vaping does not replace all that other crap that gets into your system from burning processed tobacco.

Nausea? I found out early on - by day four - that I had a pretty bad allergy problem with PG in liquids. That actually got worse the more PG liquids I vaped. Some people report problems with VG as well. In order to see if you are having an issue with the base in your liquids get a sample of what you like in 100% PG and 100% VG and then do the obvious: Try one of them and then the other. For me it was major nausea with PG, zero problems at all with VG.

You may also be vaping too much, "swallowing air" and it's causing stomach distress. To me, as a former 30 year 1.5 PAD smoker, 11 mg nic levels sounds like it's way too low. I started with 26 mg and then had to order some 30 mg stuff as well to deal with bad craving fits. If I tried to quit at only 11 mg nic levels I would have never put my pv down for a split second. Personally, I think you should look at trying a higher nic level.

And while you are going through this adjustment phase do only order small, sample size bottles until you sort it out. There is no point in getting 20 and 30 ml size bottles of something you find you cannot use. If you need some flexibility in nic lvels, PG vs. VG, and a decent menthol, take a look at Cignot http://www.cignot.com/Default.asp You could get the DK NPort menthol in 5 ml samples there, in both PG and VG, at only $3.00 each. I would suggest getting 4 samples: 16 & mg 26 mg nic levels, in both PG and VG. Vicki @ Cignot ships stuff out wicked crazy fast too and she's great at answering e-mail "Help me!!!" questions even faster.

It does get better. But this is both possible vaping effect/issues and smoking cessation you are going through. Those first two weeks were the hardest for me too and I had to try several different liquids in order to get things sorted out.

Try being a musician who played those concerts and now writes his own music and dealing with that terrible malady. ShogaNinja's Channel - YouTube . Try sleeping with a fan on and headphones listening to Pandora until my laptop shuts off an hour later... for 2 years now...
It's getting better though (thank god) but ... sometimes...
