Here is a very simple way to have the #19 changed from a spring fire button to a magnet fire button.

All you need is a small magnet (mine is 8mm diameter 3mm thick, nickel coated) and a spacer.

1) From a stock #19 unscrew the fire button from the button assembly remove the spring and reassemble.

2) connect your battery (18350 example here) to the top connector magnet
and place your supplied magnet to the neg side of the battery (make sure your battery repels the button fire magnet.)

3) I cut a spacer for my magnet from a foam insert from a CDR container. Doesn't matter what you use but make sure it is not conductive and it will ABSOLUTELY PREVENT the magnet from moving position and contacting the tube. When the mod is together and IF the negative side battery magnet did touch the tube it will fire as if the button was pressed. I am sure many trying this understand how it fires but if you do not please do not try this mod until you understand fully how the #19 fires.

6) Screw on the fire button. It should repel from the neg side of the battery if you have the new magnet placed correctly. On mine I can tighten in 18350 mode snug to the O-ring spacer. Make sure yours does not short the fire button magnet (fire gap) to your installed battery magnet when tightening the tube or it will be in fire mode.

The locking ring works perfectly as it is supposed to. Sorry if all is not clear, I will edit as needed but I am rushing so my login does not time out lol.

FYI my RSST rebuild stand in pic came from goodwill, $2 what a deal :vapor:

The stock #19 has 2 magnets. One in the 510 top piece and another in the fire button assembly. In examples I've seen on the net they tell you to connect the battery between these magnets. The case has nothing to do with the magnetic force but as in most mods the case is common with the 510 connection body. (the 510 center being the isolated connection to the positive of the battery)

Basically you leave the magnet on that already comes on the #19's switch and put another magnet on the bottom of the battery

Yep that's all, but use a spacer, ring around the magnet to prevent the new magnet from being able to slide over shorting the neg of the battery to the case.

I finally got around to this simple yet totally effective mod. This was so easy and since I had a 19b head I didn't even have to buy a magnet. Hardest part was rummaging through the junk drawer looking for something to use as a spacer. Working like a champ! Thank you so much for posting this!

Your welcome, nice to hear you got yours working.

So are you using the 19b top with the spring? Is the opposing magnet force enough to keep the battery firm to the pos post?
Does the 19b have the same fire button as the 19?

Hmmmmm..... think I need to get a 19b now lol

I wasn't able to use the cap with the spring. It forced the magnets together so it was constantly firing. With the 19b cap though it worked great! I'm not sure about a true 19b button. I just got a 19 with the spare (19b) cap.

From the pics I see online I guess my 19 with the magnet in the cap is the original version? What did they change in the 19b?

Where would be the best place to get a battery that size?

The battery I am using in my pics is just a flat top 18350.
It is not a great brand (was cheap from a China site,) so I didn't want to show much of it. I do recommend researching some of the battery threads for the good ones. Maybe someone will jump in here with some good recommendations.
