I posted this question in the general forum a while back.
A few weeks ago I picked up my Sig in the morning and it was dead, wouldn't turn on. Took the battery out and put it in the charger and it showed 2.2V. It charged back up really quickly to 3.2 or so, and then at normal speed to 4.2.
Last night it happened again, that's only the second time. It showed 2.4V this time. I think I left it turned on, but I do that regularly and it stays at whatever level of charge it had the night before. I didn't think to mark the battery it happened to so I don't know if it was the same battery both times. I'll mark it this time.
I keep it on a stand where the button isn't close to anything that could depress it, and I haven't seen any signs of a button problem any other time.
In any case normally it gives the low battery warning at 3.2 and won't fire after that. And I've started changing batteries at around 3.6V since I read here that was good for the battery, so last night I'm pretty sure I left it at 3.6 or higher.
I suppose I should be more diligent about turning it off when I'm not using it. Of course if I do that the problem won't happen again, but I would still like to know what caused it. If there's an intermittent short or something like that I really need to know before it blows up on me.
I'm guessing the sigelei is draining the battery somehow. Any ideas?
