I used to be able to adjust the pre heat setting for wattage mode but today I have the message " resistance setting only for temp control"
I am aware that there are some issues with temp control with these, so never bothered. I have today and it does not work, either.
As the pre set is set, I can't cancel it and what ever tank I use it immediately goes up to 50w for 1.5 secs. Any help appreciated.

Seems like you are using the button presses to get into the preheat. The resistance setting probably is in relation to pressing the up and down buttons at the same time and is a TC function only option (and doesn't do what it is supposed to). The preheat setting be set by pressing the up and fire button at the same time. If you are and still can't get into the menu, it might be a sign that the down button is stuck or acting like it is pressed and instead of registering your up and fire button, its acting like you are pressing the up and down buttons. Wiggle the down button and see if the problem goes away, or pop the batteries out and wait several minutes and put them back in and see if that helps.
