Just got mine from vaportekusa, on the caps on mine, the spring on the bottom cap, and the bolt head on the top cap are both golden/brass in color. Doesn't necessarily make them brass, but they are the correct color, lol. Your spring appears to be silver in color. I emailed vaportekusa when I ordered and was told they have replace springs with proper ones. Guess time will tell. Good luck.

Anyone know what version this is ? It said #1 when I bought it. Is this and updated version of the 8 ? I noticed it had the sigelei stamp on the front if that means anything ?View attachment 223670View attachment 223671

Ya ive been looking for a brass spring but cant seem to find that size at an local hardware stores. I plan on sanding the inside of the caps and using a brass screw down the silver spring. My buddy bought the #8 when it first came out and his does not have the sigelei stamp.

I know it's already in the thread a couple places but this one is just about perfect. http://www.amazonsupply.com/silver-...&filterBy.feature_seven_browse-bin=5485427011
It's a tiny bit long so you could either snip it to the length of the stock spring or what I did was strech the top quarter inch of coils out around the spring diameter to make a T on top giving the spring more surface area to contact the battery.

Nam - 16 gauge braided. The lock ring works like its normal action. No binding. The large wire loop should fit into the gap at the delrin spacer. When the lock ring is full dis-engaged, you can feel that the last turn is a bit tighter, but that's the effect of compressing the wire against the switch wall ensuring good contact. This goes away as the wire forms to the space.

So let me see if I get it. The wire keeps the button head from screwing all the way down, lengthening the switch so the brass cup rises above the delrin, and also provides an alternative conductive path?

Is the wire needed for your mod in particular? Is the button not making contact with the body otherwise? I'm interested in the magnetic switch, and wasn't sure if the wire is essential, or mostly since you removed the other magnet in the cup, without tapping in a screw.

Yes the copper wire adds about a 1mm to make the magnet-less brass pin rise a bit higher. The point of the copper wire is to eliminate an uncertain path of current from the brass post to the mod body. Using the wire in the mod you get a solid connection from the attachment at the threads of the brass post to a point where you can secure the other end of the wire. That is a compression fit in the gap between the delrin spacer and the locking mechanism.

Do you need the wire in this mod? Only if you want the better/more solid connection. The magnets just replace the spring. The spring was an issue with the stock 19. Hot spots occurred (shocks?) when the spring contact was not solid or the button made the sloppy contact with the body. The wire is needed in both spring and magnet versions of this mod for the alternate current path.

The screw mod in the brass post is just for battery length adjustments (which I found i dont need). The magnet-less brass post hits the neg on my batts (AW IMRs and Panny NCR18650PDs) perfectly.

Short answer is : the wire is essential.....and BTW, you can get the same electrical result with a spring. Its just not as cool......

I think technically the screw mod is so that the switch pin clears the delrin to contact the battery, for those that have the button still threaded all the way down. The battery should sit against the delrin regardless. Does your brass cup rise enough for a 18350? I wasn't sure if you had the spring top or original 19.

Looks like a good fix, have you compared the conductivity with and without the wire, meaning do you happen to have measurements?

Ok...that makes sense.

Yes, just checked, sits so the tube needs a half a thread twist from full tube screw down

I have the original 19 with magnet remove from the top cap.

Conductivity... I dont recall the before mod v drop...I think after the wire/spring mod I got something in the .4v drop range? I can say that I just tested the magnet switch with a fresh batt with I get a .45v drop. under load with a .6ohm coil (RSST). With a 1.2 ohm coil it tested at .40v drop (AGA-T).

R/M Genny on my Sigelei

Mod done: Removed the -ve post spring, unscrewed the holding tube a bit and it perfectly snug-fits the batteries inside w/out any rattle. Sanded the -ve & +ve contact points, revealing the brass... AND my Sigelei performs excellently. The voltage drop now is at par to my GP Paps. Vape satisfaction wise I do not find any difference between the two anymore.

The Sig#8, my first mech. mod, is still rocking!

I wonder if that is a 14xxx size?

Looks like its in 18350 mode to me. I like the looks of it but really want to see what they have going on with that side button.

EDIT: On second thought, It looks like a new design of this

Not sure I like the setup there.

Really liking the look of the new Sigelei 24 mod. Hope this one gets a Co Op or to the market soon.

Seconded, Bmays. I want to see the build of the switch.

But it does look cool! :D
