Looking at the strip down with more pictures on facebook, it maybe possible to swap the top and bottom pins with a long brass bolt inserted from the bottom, it could also float, so screw the atty on first then let the hot spring and the battery push it up to make contact with the atty![]()
I see you noticed the flaw in your thinking here, but I don't think your to far off of a possibility.
You just need to isolate the two shafts from each other but also connect them. It would be a little more involved but very doable IMO.
