What is wrong with the locking switch on the #20? I think it works great.

The switch design as a whole is the pits. However, I removed the locking portion because as you use the device, the switch turns and may cause it to be in the lock position when you are trying to use it.

Also, the "roughness" that folks are noticing with the button is the return spring binding on the side wall of the switch housing.

I may remove mine yet again and place a very small piece of shrink tubing or something in there to smooth things up.

i'd say that is a deal! and free shipping.... pays to ask... I've searched a bit before but under Sig mech mods more or less and had to wade through too much "stuff"... this site is pretty basic; i like that.
This is the first listing I found with Google...I've never bought anything from this site nor do I know anything about them, but they are located in CA:
SteamBucker.com — Sigelei Telescope #8 - Mechanical Mod
$35

EDIT: Discount Vapers carries the #8, but they are out of stock right now...

Well, like I said, I don't know anything about that site. Check them out first...

So I have been looking at the roller switch assembly. With the correct tools it doesn't really look that hard to replicate something similar for the 20.

But I do have some questions/clarification based on these pictures The Roller - stainless steel telescopic mod custom finish

I'm assuming there is a groove with some deeper detents for the ball bearing to ride/stop in?

Two things in the big delrin piece that I'm failing to understand, I'm sure there is a reasoning but I'm not seeing it yet.

1- Why is the one side flat on the exterior diameter?

2- What is the groove on the bottom for? (I think its the bottom)

The o-ring in the first picture....Does this go behind the button on the button shaft? (It almost looks to big for that and to small to go around the large delrin piece in the groove...plus the flat side)

Edit - So I just realized this must be an old version of the switch ....still going over the new design

Nothing wrong with the lock, but I dont think the floating spring is very safe. Just speculation though. Bend a spring enough times and it will slowly retain the bend shape.

I guess it depends on how far you bend it, the buckling springs in an IBM model M keyboard last seemingly forever :)

Done with one. Just like bmay said, the switch design is a accident waiting to happen. I may sell my 3 20's.

It's beautiful. But, now you have me worried again.

I just ordered a Sigelei #8 from them today. Before I purchased, I contacted them by email and they responded in less than an hour. Got an email an hour or two after the order stating the item has shipped, so hopefully I'll be expecting the mod tomorrow :). Their location is only an hour or two away from me. I forgot where I read today that Joe from .........blogspot.com mentioned them as a new vendor - not likely something he would do unless it was positive.

So they really did put a Sigelei logo on it!

Winchell - what serial number is yours? :)

Yeah.....

I'm almost thinking it would be a shame to sand and polish this thing...pretty sweet as it is...may have to reconsider...

I think I kinda like the satin look now..kinda goes nice with the satin finish I put on the AGA-T2 awhile back.. The gap doesn't seem to be a major issue for me...Its not as gaping as I have seen on others...

My worries with the switch are just speculation. This switch might very well last forever. Ive vaped almost 10 ml in the last 5 hours with the 20 and I have to say I am loving it. I still prefer my 19 though. All the brass parts are easily accessed for cleaning. Im going to dread breaking apart the 20 for oxidization removal which will happen and at a faster rate on the copper portions.
