Ok so this is a two part post, first the good. I hand sanded my top cap nice and flat thanks to the tips from gdeal earlier in this thread. It turned out great and it is buttery smooth. Here is the result

Ok, so now the bad. This is the dumbest thing I have done in a while and I do my fair share of dumb things. I decided it would look nice if I torched the ring between the locking ring and the main tube. I noticed the delrin in there but I figured it would be fine as long as I torched it nice and slow... Yea that was a terrible idea. So now my switch won't function anymore because, surprise metal conducts heat very well. Anyone have an idea for a fix to remove or replace the delrin? What I have in there is completely shot. It warped upwards and won't house the switch or retract the button. Oh man, what a bummer.
If you manage to source a new delrin piece would you please let me know as I could do with a replacement, I'm trying to source one myself, if I'm successful I will let you know bud :)

Can someone post a more detailed description disassembling the firing pin on the #8 (preferably pictures)? I tried applying pressure to the pin inside the tube, while I twisted the button on the outside, but that didn't work. While twisting the top, it doesn't feel like anything is unthreading or separating, its just a never ending twist. Then, I tried heating up the assembly with a lighter to see if it would loosen the bonds a little - nope. This is going to drive me crazy, haha. Much appreciated if anyone is willing to post a tutorial.

Hmm, where did you hear it had a glass tank? The descriptions shows as follows:

Material Polycarbonate + Stainless Steel

I want one with a glass tank ... I tried the DID clone from there and it worked but only briefly; tank cracked before I got 3 tankfuls through it. :( I didn't have anything even remotely caustic in it either, it's just really thin plastic.

One of the reviews said it was but they might not know what they are talking about.

Will do, I am kicking around some ideas. If I manage to find one or come up with a solution, you will hear from me for sure.

In the "Reviews" on the the SS one a couple people say that it has a glass tank but I don't have one in-hand to confirm that it does. https://www.fasttech.com/product/1330500

A couple say it has "glass" (not pyrex) and the others say poly... as does the item description. I'd be very surprised if they somehow started sticking pyrex tanks on a cheap RBA and still made the mistake of calling them poly. The other way around??? Yeah, that I COULD imagine. It's China, folks ;)

This one is a twofer....its a combination of previously described techniques but with a twist. I dont like having wires in the switch, but this completely eliminated any mis-fires and a potential hot button issue. It also shortens your button push.

Wrap and twist-tie silver NR around the neck of the brass , slide a tight o-ring up to secure. Score insulator in threads:

Place brass and wire through insulator hole:

Bend wire over the insulator and tuck into the score in the threads. Trim wire to end under the insulator lip:

Re-assemble, keep brass stationary, screw the button piece only to minimize tension on the wire. The wire will flex with button pushes, but the travel is only about a mil or so with the o-ring in place. This may have a limited life.

Hmmm I like the idea but what happens if the button turns from pressing it, strange how some #19's don't suffer from misfires, mine hasn't missed a beat, yet others can be 50/50

Does anyone who posts in this thread have an nzonic? I would like to see what it's switch looks like when disassembled to understand how a real magnetic switch works. I know there are two opposing magnets but I have no idea how it completes a battery connection. I want to try to turn the switch assembly I melted into a working magnetic one.

Quote: "This may have a limited life." lol... When I turn the button, it seems like the wire wrap around the post has a bit of a give underneath the o-ring. The button can turn without breaking the wire both being pushed and in the non-firing position. But it a cheap easy re-do if it does. :)

I think most of what comes out of china is 50:50. I just dont understand their inability to do basic design work.

For pyrex tanks, you'll need to go to IBTanked. https://www.ibtanked.com/other-tank-tubes/chobra-tube-detail
They also have pyrex tubes for the Chid. https://www.ibtanked.com/other-tank-tubes/did-clear-90-detail

I dont have an nzonic, but I was thinking the same thing...The nzonic has an isolated magnet in the battery tube. The other magnet is in the switch assembly. They also put copper over/around the magnet.

I hate the #19. It doesn't make a connection with 18350s, doesn't work with a fuse and any battery, I've been getting shocks off the button and it won't fire half the stuff I own, including my Igo-L. My 13a has it's fidgety moments, but I can always make adjustments and get everything I own to work with it.

This is the first mod I've bought that I am thinking about just throwing in the garbage.

Throw it in the mail to my house so I can fix my switch!:D

Vultures.

Hey, I was just worried about your stress level :D Didn't want your blood pressure getting too high. Seriously, I know you will figure out something.

@China's thread stalkers>>>It is too bad when they (you) copy something they (you) choose not to copy the switch design or at least find one that works and stick with it! And ditch the eGo well too while you at it.
