Heres my 19 20130521_145558[1].jpg
Modded top and bottom brass screws. Hits fine. Still think my chichi hits harder with fresh batt.

There's a webshop in the Philippines that sells bottom switches for Sigelei telescopes. I am wondering if it is a viable fix for the 19 bottom switch. It doesn't have a locking mechanism unfortunately.

thoughts?

Ask them, or if a member has that version and a #19 could maybe try it to see if it works

Edit. Looking at them they look to short

Another data point for anyone interested (and I've lost track of the whole thread, so sorry if this seems superfluous):

2 Sigelei No.8s delivered from America to the UK in a bit over 2 weeks. These are the earlier ones, with a well around the connector (I think this might be called an ego well?), and no logo. They were marked as 'gifts', which I didn't ask them to do, but they incurred customs charges anyway (£8 flat handling fee, ~£16 total - still cheaper than it would have been had I bought them in the UK [edit - sorry, jumping the gun, checked my maths such as and it's actually pretty much the same :)] ).

They work very well out of the box - I haven't measured the voltage drop, but no issues with hot buttons, rattle, machining defects, or vapour production. I'll probably sand the easy to do bits anyway on principle :)

And they're really very nice to hold in the hand. Solid feeling, and attractive (simple, relatively understated even though they're quite shiny) to look at.

Thanks to everyone for the great information in this thread.

My #8 with sanded top contact alone hits great as far as i need, but the bottom GG type button will get hot once and a while; whats up with that?

#20 v2 already, not long had my erm v1, what's different
Do you have a link or information on the #20 V2?

Anyone? How to disassemble the #8s button once I've got it off the body?(If possible)

Yes, the firing pin screws INTO the button which is actually part of a threaded tube. Two pair of needle nose pliers should suffice although the button may need a little heat applied to it to coax it... Most are held in place with loctite or similar adhesive and can be very stubborn without a touch of heat (a bic lighter will work). Detailed instructions and photos are already in this thread too, probably 100+ pages back ;)

PS: Be VERY ready to catch that tiny spring inside as it likes to fly out when the button is disassembled!!!

Anyone want to start a #8 mod thread? :D

Yea I try to keep up with this thread, but it's tough lol. Couldn't find it sorry and thank you.

On another note has anyone torched the #8s body? And if so pics?

Yup. They are buried in this thread too ;)

This huge thread, that no one really bothers to read all the way from the beginning any more, is the reason I've started THIS thread:

Please show your support and share your opinions? :)
