Sigelei Zmax OLED V2 thread issues

I just wanted to see if anyone else has had thread issues on their zmax. I've gone through 3 total now and am about to go through another one.

First one i bought would randomly shut off if you moved it the wrong way. Second one threads stripped even though i was careful with it. and now the 3rd one's threads stripped again. Doubt i'll be able to get this 3rd one warranty'd.

Total time owned. 1 day before first replacement. 5 days before second replacement. and now 7 days before needing a 3rd replacement.

Nothing with screw onto the mod. Am I doing something wrong?

Any help on this subject would be awesome.

I don't own a Zmax, but I have various others. First question: is this your first PV? Second, how tight are you screwing it down?

This is my first mod, had a ego-t before this. I don't tighten it very hard. I make sure it's secure, but not forcing it by any means. It seems like the top threads just start to wear out. then over time only the last few threads work. then none work and the carto/clearomizers just go into it as if there are no threads at all. No visible damage to the threads either.

The vendor i get it from is local and says he's sold a bunch of them and i'm the only person having this problem. So when i received the second one i made sure i was even more careful with it but the exact same thing happened to me today. =\

No visible damage to the threads? If they are worm out enough so you can not screw anything onto them, you should be able to see the tops of the threads distorted, worn off, or missing (gone). Have a look with a magnifying glass. If they are OK, maybe it's the clearo/carto/etc you are screwing on that's getting damaged.

Well to the naked eye there is no damage. I'm sure it's worn down. All my cartos/clearos still fit onto my ego-t just fine. TG, or else i might have gone back to analogs.

i'm just wondering why a decent priced mod is stripping on me when a $20 ego-t i've had 5x as long is still in perfect shape.
Also if anyone else has had this same issue. or if I just have the worst luck when it comes to vaping.

I have an old v1 zmax with the bad voltage and wattage readings (wayyy off) and never had a thread issue. Do you have a digital camera with a macro mode? Its usually a little flower symbol on the top wheel or a button on it. Use that mode and try to take an extreme closeup of the threads then blow the picture up on your computer an inspect for damage.

I have both the Smok , and the Segelei Zmax , and both seem to have very loose threads , mostly with the larger Vivi-Nova tanks . So much so , that if I need to use a ViVi on them , I first put on a 510 adapter , and screw the Vivi , into that . Most other tanks , carto's , etc , don't seem to have a problem . Had the Smok , for about a year , and the Segelei , for over three months . No other issues with either .

It really sounds like you are doing things right and you have a bad batch of Zmax's on your hands. There is a Zmax forum on ECF here. You will be able to post there once you have 5 posts under your belt. In the meantime you can still read there. I hope your supplier will work with you on this issue!

That's funny, cause the first time i noticed my threads were wearing out was when i received a vivi 3.0 and it wouldn't screw on. my 2.0 vivi was a nice fit. But then the next day the 2.0 wouldn't even fit. Then only clearomizers would fit, then nothing.

- Thanks everyone for the quick responses. My main goal was just to find out if there was a known issue with it. Which it doesn't look like there is.

I'll have to get a 510 to ego connector and find a way to solder/glue it on if the supplier won't warranty again.

Just wanted to update this real quick.

My supplier replaced my zmax again. This time it was with the stainless steel one. I forgot to say i had the black aluminium.
Well the threads on the stainless steel ones are way different. All my cartos/clearo/vivi and now the new kanger protank i have screw on very smooth unlike the old black one i had.

Figured i'd post in case anyone else was thinking about the black one. IMO i'd stay away.
