I use AW IMR 18490 flat top or efest v2 IMR 18500 flat top

Awesome. Love the fact that is not at all extended. I'm sold, time to shop for some more batteries and a new charger that can handle all three sizes (350, 490, 650)

- Having at least 1 mechanical mod in a collection, is not bad a good idea.

that 19 looks awesome - i saw that in another thread. THe magnetic switch is really a nice feature (gg inspired) and magnets don't lose their strength so the switch spring will not degrade over time since there is no switch spring.
A lot of these devices coming out of the China Cig district are getting better and better - and they are mass producing them like crazy. Again, the quality is no where near as good as the luxury mods, so you're truly getting what you pay for wherever it's a 30$ device or a 300$ device. functionality wise though, the ZMAX Telescope and even those Sigelei Mech Mods, they do what their main job is, which is to perform - at first they function ok, but once modded or given some slight love and care, they can perform great with minimal voltage drop.
now back to the ZMax V3 telescope - great build - great metal quality, and the i love that the 490/500's can fit in 350 mode, so the device isn't that big at all really - a little wider than the zmax v2 since it has to hold the telescope tube - but still acceptable.

Telescope systems great for different size battery uses.. No need to pay extra dollars for extension things.. I ordered one. Waiting to receive my package.
Just a heads up to anyone looking for a good deal on the zmax v3. I scored one from vaporheads.net last night for about $45 Under specials they have some "scratch and dent" units where the oled is off by a millimeter. I heard someone mention that before and for the price I was willing to live with it. Buy a bottle of juice or something and get free shipping over $50. It's a steal when you use the ect coupon code. Shipped today...can't wait!
Wow, wish this deal would have been there last week. Oh well, I love my v3, it's still worth the $60 I paid for it
Only thing I would have bought different is the batteries. If I would have known the 490 flat top fits in short mode, u would have bought them with a matching charger.

Welcome , and although I have several Vamo's , I now also have a few Sigelei's , one regular one , and one of the tele's from the same vendor , you mentioned . Works great , and the kit comes with 2 batteries , a charger , and a Kanger T2 ( don't like top coils ) but still a great deal .
Does the 18490 have to be a flat top? All I am finding for the aw imr 18490 is the one with the nipple (ElectronicStix.Com · AW IMR 18490 3.7V 1100mAh High Drain Battery). Is yes, can someone provide some links please?

- We can use a 18490/500 "flat-top" type battery in the ZMax V3 18350 mode, this is it's shortest mode.
It's very solid, and heavy I must add. I haven't got it to work with T3s yet, but it's great. Best results (if you're vaping at high voltages with rebuildables) is to get AW IMR batteries. I don't know why, but ICR batts (Samsung and Panasonic) don't get enough juice to pull it off. The difference in performance is amazing. I've had it for 15 days now and if it weren't for the bad ego connection I'd be thrilled.
I have used three batteries in single cell configuration with Sigelei Vmax V3 Telescopic flat top: 18650, 18500 and 18350. I'm going to use the 18350 if I really need the smaller size. I use the E-fest 18500 IMR most of the day and slap in a 18650 for use at home. 18500 fits my jeans pocket easily. The open end of the telescopic tube lines up with the first ring on the inner tube slide with 18500. Pbusardo's earlier review of a Sigelei Zmax convinced me that I really don't need an AW IMR for 6.0 watts.

Thanks. But just to be clear, a button top will still work right? I want to keep all of my order with just one vendor and they only have the button top aw imr's.
I use Vasoline to lube tube threads. Vasoline is FDA approved for use on the lips. I don't want any mechanical grade goop transferring from threads to fingers to mouth. God knows what chemicals are in this stuff that's made for lubing mechanical parts or electrical contacts. Vasoline is cheap as dirt. It works and it's safe. I clean out all of the tube threads with cotton terry cloth moistened with water, then dry it. I saw machining residue on the cloth. I only need a thin coating of Vasoline to be effective. No more squeaks, silky operation.
