I got it about 3 months ago. It has been performing flawlessly up until the last day or so. Recently, I really need to push the button hard to fire the device. All the time now, when I push the button until it clicks, where it had been firing before, nothing happens now. I'm fairly certain before long the button will be completely inoperable. Has this happened to anyone else? Any fixes available? Or should I start looking for a new device?

A local vape shop has devices with magnetic buttons that eliminate the potential of this problem, but I don't want to spend $200+ on a new pv.

I'm virtually certain the Sigelei V5 uses the same button as V1, V2, and V3.

Clean all tube threads and the battery cap threads with a soft cloth dampened in alcohol. You will be surprised how much machining dust will come off. Then give the tube threads a thin coating of Noalox. You can find Noalox cheap in the electrical department of any Home Depot. This lubricates the threads leaving a thin film of zinc behind that improves electrical conductivity between stainless steel parts. Zinc is a much better conductor of electricity than stainless steel. Clean off any moisture that accumulates on the 510 or Ego connections on a daily basis. Kleenex works great for this. Don't allow moisture to puddle in the head. Pull the post on your atomizing device if needed to correct poor electrical contact. Doing these steps will eliminate problems many people incorrectly attribute to the switch button.

Sometimes a hundred rapid clicks on the button will eliminate misfires.

Pushing down very hard on the button could create problems of itself. Sometimes people push down hard on the button and it starts to work. They actually move the telescopic tube in the palm of their hands when doing this, correcting a poor connection at the tube threads.

Plenty of repports/fixes here.

Of course, the button could actually be at fault. But three months of good operation prior to the problem starting makes this possibility seem less likely.

Does it do the same thing with the 18350 battery?
:2c:
I have noticed that with the 18650, if I run the bottom tube up too tight the external button appears to only cover
half the internal botton. Then I will unscrew the bottom tube until I can just see the threads, and screw it back up 4 turns.
No misfire issues
With the 18350 the internal button does not appear to move up, have not had button issue with the 18350

I've had issues with my 3 wk old v3, the button is finicky and it's not the threads. For one the button is visibly not lined up with switch button, crecent moon shape exposed when looking in the glass. If you push button with battery out you can see the pos pin / circuit board moving. I've tested it , it has nothing to do with threads and its imposible for a grease to improve contact. Noalox only prevents corrosion in turn maintaining a contact. (Stainless steel?) In its typical use the pressure of the mated surfaces squeezes it out. There is nothing better than metal on metal. Noalox is absolutely not increasing conductivity.

If you want to work a repair on it I've found a source for it as I will need to do it within 3 months of use.

JeremyR: I haven't experienced this problem with my two Sigeleis. You must have the new production V3 with the removable top cap, too. These circuit boards should be mounted so that they will not move but it seems that Sigelei hasn't addressed the issue yet. What causes the boards to rotate or slip in the first place?

It appears just pushing the button. The black disk doesn't even touch the center pin and that's what supports the button end of the board. Actually if I shake the mod the black disk rattles. It's also loose inside. I could try to send it back but unless they change the way they support the button I don't expect much difference. It too bad, that's the only thing they messed up otherwise its a great mod.
