Sigelei Zmax V5 low wattage

Hello,

I'm struggling to get my head around all this voltage, wattage, amperage

I have the sigelei Zmax V5 (with a PT2, coil is showing 2.6ohm) from VapeEscape, I set the wattage to 12watts and when I fire it quite often only goes to 10.0w or 10.4w on the screen. Sometimes it will goto 12w, but not always.

Currently the battery is at 4.0v. When I change the display to 'current' it tells me I'm always drawing 2amps when set at 10.5watt or above. Even if I set 15watt, it's still only drawing 2amps. Is this correct ?

If I use my 'BFN Li-Ion' battery, it's current voltage is 3.9v, but when firing the wattage display is only showing it as 9.6w.

I have 4x18650 batteries. 2x efest IMR's, 1x BFN Li-Ion and 1x AW IMR. All seem unable to keep a constant 12w.

Thanks.

I believe the V5 should have a four amp limit.

Here is a link to calculator and pie chart, with the calculator just enter two known values and hit calculate.
Voltage current resistance and electric power general basic electrical formulas calculations calculator formula for calculating energy equation power watts general electrical pie chart electricity calculation - electrical voltage power formula equati

Try another topper on it, if it still has a 2 amp limit, contact the vendor.

Edit, OOPS, check out WarHawks voltage chart, seems I overlooked another important factor. Thanks WarHawk

You need to run lower resistance coils...put a 2.0Ω-2.2Ω, it should be able to fire a high resistance coil just fine

Thank you for the input chaps :)

I've got an iClear 30 with me and the coil is reading 2.1ohms, but it's telling me it's only pulling 11.4w, the battery is currently at 4.0v. The current seems to have increased to 2.2amps with this coil (which I've never seen before)

But going by that chart, it seems I'm maybe pushing the limits a bit with my setup.

Btw you have.it set to mean or rms?

It's set in RMS.

The V5 has a function to show how many amps you're drawing? Wow.

It certainly does mate. Shows current, resistance, voltage/wattage and a timer (which is a little pointless as the time disappears when you let go of the button and you can't see it while vaping).

Thanks again for the help.

It looks like I'm trying to push too hard. The flavour seems mute at less than 12w, maybe I need to find a better tank, or try different brands of juice.

Have never used them but a Vet here that uses the Vamo swears by dual coils at high wattage.
Swears by dual coils because he enjoys vaping at 12+ watts. He's knowledgeable and more than willing to help us and has helped me greatly in the past- a true vet with the right stuff  Online now.

I quite like my iClear, but the flavour is quite poor. I'll try the PT3 first and see how I get on with that as I quite like the dual coils too, but if my device/batteries can't handle them then I'll have to go back to single coils. I know the PT2 is single coil, but at less than 12w it spits and gargles something chronic.

I'm sure I'll find the right balance. Trial and error.

I like your optimism  and if it wasn't for trial and error who would buy all this stuff the Chinese are churning out
Best of Luck my Friend.
