Silica wick on the Z-atty-pro

Hello folks,

Wanted to share my experience with using a silica wick on the zap:

1. Dismantled zap
2. Took out the insulator from wick hole
3. 3mm silica wick(adequate length) folded into 2 and threaded through wick hole from below (pic)
4. Paper clip alongside wick to act as a splint while coiling
5. 32awg A1 - 4/5 coil - 1.8ohm. Took out the splint after adjusting coils to satisfaction

Update:

Changed coil to 6/7 config, getting 2.3ohm, not as cool as I expected but more flavorful.

Note: the draw hole gets occluded by the wick if aligned in parallel, a slight deviation solves the issue, I think this contributes to the loss of cool vape?

Any suggestions or correction of obvious mistakes would be most welcome....

I think it's a pretty good attempt at using silica in a genny... ive only used ss mesh, ss rope, and ceramic (all stiff). my initial thought with yours would have been to try 1.5mm wick (since 3mm expands too much) and use a higher gauge wire to keep your wick in place. use a few more coils to keep your ohms up if you need to
