For , lets say e-pipe mods liquid , you do not need the tank air hole.
For Bobas you will need one. Like i said before Emonty , it is not the solution you tried before.
There is a 1.2mm air hole on the tank and it is more than enough. 1mm was enough , but it did
not leak so Van added 0.2mm. I vape on FA Velvet cloud and did not have a dry hit so far.
And what you asked about mesh before , i managed to fit 65mm.

make a solid wick, 65 mm, a 1.1 ohm coil, fill the tank with liquid, take off the top cap and fire the unit, keeping vertical and see how long before coils start to glow. By doing so you can see how wicking goes.

So you have 30 AWG, 32 AWG and 34 AWG

Ok go for the 30 AWG (0.255 mm) and make a 4/5 wrap. that wil give you 1 ~1.1 ohm

with 30 AWG? That wire is 0.72 Ohm per inch, so that means you use almost 4 cm for 4/5 wraps?
sounds like you wrap with a lot of space in between, ok make then one with 3/4 wraps, that should do it
