So Cal
I do not understand your question, can you please clarify.

No there is no built in default to prevent the calculator from going over 100%. When you see that happening, most people will either cut on the PG (when using the PG page) or VG, when using the other.

Think I got it, I'm a newbie so after I play with it some more I'll try and give my feedback

Took a quick look and I like it. Being able to enter pct or ml or drops is a real advantage, particularly when mixing small amounts. It took me a while to figure that out because I didn't read the directions at first. But I got it figured out and when I read the directions had a kind of duh moment.

One thing you could do is to protect the sheet and just enable entry in the appropriate cells (B2, E2, B6:E8, C10:E13 and C15:E20). Upside, that would prevent anyone inadvertently breaking a calculation; downside is some folks might jump when it tells them they can't do that. :)

If you're interested in formatting suggestions, one thing I did in the version for personal use was to narrow the column with asterisks in it, and add another narrow column to its left. That put all the text and calc on one screen (at my resolution). I let the column headings wrap and narrowed the input columns, again to fit it all on my screen better. I turned off gridlines too.

Anyway, this works fine for me. Nice job, thanks.

Hi Switched. In Excel 07, select all the cells that are to be left open (or you can repeat for as many cells as you wish). Then in the Home tab, you'd click Format (off to the right), then Format Cells... There, select the Protection tab and check the Locked checkbox and OK out.

Then, under Format again, select Protect Sheet... I usually check only "Select unlocked cells". That will prevent selecting any cell that is locked, and position the cursor in the first data entry cell. I hope this makes sense. [Edit: I don't usually password protect the sheet, but that's always an option.]

Under Excel 03 - it's been a long time! - I think you'd find it under the Format menu, then Format Cells... and it'd look pretty much the same. I think! Haven't used 03 for a couple months and memory does not serve me well. :)

Hope this helps.

Cool. I received you pm and even that wasn't clear. During feedback, if you could spell out for me where you ran into problems and what would be needed in the instructions so folks don't get confused.

I really apologize I was trying to play while my supplies are being shipped so I could give feedback, I'm just still behind on learning mixing in general, I plan to use it when I start experimenting and hopefully I will be of more help then :)

I tried downloading the file several times and at least on dial-up it went thru all the ads, I registered, and see the file in My Files on the web but no file to use on my computer.
Perhaps I need excel opened first?????
Other downloads give me the option where to download to and then are available w/o being online.

Send me a pm with your e-mail addy, I'll shoot you a copy direct. Something is wonkie because it will download where ever you want to, unless your 'puter defaults are set to open vice save. It is not a problem from "my file" or the file itself, I am sorry to say.
