Okay, so I have the ego-c upgrade. I originally used the regular atomizers that come with the egos and those didn't work all that great. Now I typically use the stardust and they are great...but they only work a day or two before totally burning out (I have a bag full and a close to empty pocket book now!). I have also tried the Kanger T3 and do not like them. I was going to buy some Vivi Novas...but now have been told they aren't all that great. I am fairly new to all of this and don't want anything I will have to rebuild or mess with too much. Does anyone have any other suggestions of a clearomizer they love?

It doesn't matter what device you use. All have coils. Coils are wire. Your liquid coats the coil, and the coil fries it. Now, imagine frying eggs all day in a pan and you can't clean the pan. You will have build-up crust and gunk, and the pan is not going to conduct heat to keep cooking eggs efficiently. That's the problem with all coils. The only solution is a new coil. Everyone is just paying for a new car when all they need is a new distributor cap.

Why do you keep buying them? Does a new one perform better than one you've used for a while?

they work for about two days wonderfully...it's the only thing my local store carries that fit the ego c. so i just buy more bc i hate to order online if it is going to suck just as bad as the one's i get without paying shipping! that's why i am trying to get some good suggestions before purchasing anything else. it's getting frustrating!

With the newer stardust a you can get replacement wicks for 2-3 dollars. Or a 5 pack for 10 bucks. The little white head inside unscrews and you put a new one on. Most Clearomizers can be "rebuilt" the easy way with a simple unscrew old part, screw on new part pattern. I would suggest a slim or regular vivi with a metal tube

Used clearos but switched to Vision Vivi Novas about 6+ months ago. The only complaints about the Vivi are those that bought the knockoffs or those that tasted "plastic" If you don't taste the plastic in the clearos the Vivis will be fine.
A plastic or metal tank with a wick and element. Contains NO stuffing. The rebuildable Mini Vivi Novas come with heads (coil+ wick) that can be cheaply ($2.00) and easily replaced. When the head burns out simply unscrew the old head out and screw in new head- takes 10 secs. My Vivi Nova heads are lasting about 10+ weeks BUT I wash the heads every few days. I've found the Vivi Nova to give the best draw. Make absolute certain you buy the Vision Brand Mini Vivi Nova 2.0 ml.
As for rebuilding make sure you have a digital multi tester- I re wicked with cotton and it was nice but the regular heads last so long and are so cheap it's not really worth it IMO.
There's a reason the Vision Mini Vivi Novas were the first to sell out.

You should learn how to clean and dry burn the CE4's, you will find they'll last a month or two before the coil actually pops and they're not good anymore. Search youtube for ce4/stardust cleaning and dry burn videos, there's a bunch of them, find one that works for you. Here's one->How to clean a CE5 a.k.a. Vision Ego Clearomizer a.k.a. Stardust - YouTube Everyone does it a little differently, that's why I say search for one that works for you.

Seriously, listen to the wisdom of cleaning your clearos. Start with hot water or some clear unflavored alcohol like vodka or Everclear. Rinse the clearo out well - fill it half way, cover the top hole and shake vigorously. Dump, and repeat. Do this several times, then let it dry. That should get more life out of your clearos - you should be getting one or two weeks, not one or two days out of them.

My recommendation beyond that is to buy the ones that you can take apart and clean more thoroughly. I am really digging the iClear 30s right now - you can take it apart, rinse off the wicks, wash out the tank. Dry burn only when that coil of wire starts looking gunky (yes, that's a technical term). Hell, you could probably take that purseful of Stardusts and bring some new life into them all - wash them, assembly-line style, and let them all dry overnight.
