I've been reading over various discussions on RBA's and RDA's. I've been considering getting a simple, inexpensive dripper or the like for sampling new flavors mainly. Would that be a fair idea? BDC clearos are inconsistent and carto-tanks too wasteful IMO for just tasting.

I've yet to start rebuilding my own coils, I've only gone as far as to re-wick my kanger PT coils with cotton to improve their performance with success for the most part.

What RDA would suit my needs?

Simply the IGO-L. It is a single coil set-up and you will need to learn how to build a coil and have an ohm meter to make sure it is safe to fire it but that is very easy to learn how to do. Do a YouTube search and you can easily figure it out.

IGO-L - Triangle Vape LLC

That site has them for $9.00 before tax and shipping.

Thanks, Iv'e got most of the gear for rebuilding, just need the wire and such.

I've been itching to start rebuilding. So this will be a start.

That's just what finally lead me to my first RDA El Pist.

I followed similar recommendations as you've gotten in this thread by getting an Igo-L.
Just on my 3rd coil now and this lil' dripper is all I'd hoped for and more. Beats the pants off of the 510's I'd been using.

Vape a couple of drops of unflavored then a few drops of the flavor de jour, nuther' couple of drops of unflavored and ready for the next new flavor. Easy peasy (-:

Oh, I didn't know about alternating with unflavored juice to clear it out the flavor before the next flavor, very cool indeed.

So im going to have to venture into building two sets of coils I suppose. One set for my mini-PT 2's and another for the IGO-L.

I use the mini-PT sometimes as an alternate or quick set-up, at least until 'I've got more carto-tanks.
Since I haven't built a coil myself yet (still using the stock kanger coils which last a good while and I have about 13 of them in rotation for 2 tanks, I just change the wicks with more cotton) I need to decide on wire gauge and ohms.

My cartos are 3 ohms which I prefer very much over the 2 ohms versions, much cooler, smoother vapor.

My mods are 2 eGo twist vv and an MVP 2.

I love the squid for this. Side air without the little air tube in the base simplifies coils placement, the caps fit better, and the small chamber gives a concentrated flavor. Other than that they are about the same in terms of ease of build. Dirt cheap too, so you can experiment with different hole sizes without blowing a lot of cash.

I actually reccomend the IGO W, not L. I have only been using RDAs for two weeks and building my own coils on the igo L, my first RDA. The L has no holes in the posts so it's pretty hard to get a coil in if you're new. The W has holes in the posts, so you just slide the wire in. The extra post is for dual+ coils but you don't HAVE to use it. You can simply cover up the other air hole too if it's too airy for you. I'm getting a W soon and can't wait. I will be trying my very first dual coil on it.

I also reccomend 28g kanthal and cotton.
