Single or Dual coil

Hey guys! You rock as always! Another newbie question. I started with RBAs. But, On the clones as I don't wish to mess up a $170.00 Prometheus so I got the clone. Here's the question. One coil or should O do a double coil? Is there a big difference? I have done many single coils and am doing well. But, is there really a difference in putting two in or will one do? Cheers Cote :)

Ok first we must explain some electronics. Namely ohms law. Single coil is simple you have a single coil and the resistance of it is what it is. But DUAL coils are in parallel and to get a known total resistance you have to do this. It it easy if both coils are the same resistance. Simply take the resistance of the coils in parallel and divide by 2. If you put in two 2 ohm coils you will have a total resistance of 1 ohm. Now this does some things for you. It is possible to get more vapor without a dry hit or hot TH. Because you have twice the coils an wicks. So if you normally use 8 watts you can still use just 8 watts and get about the same vapor as a single coil 8 watts. Or you could crank it up to 16 watts and each coil would only be at 8 watts each. If you have the juice flow/wick to support this you could git a lot more vapor.View attachment coils.pdf

Two coils can really increase your vapor output if done right. However I only have single coil setups. You definitely want to have a battery to handle it. While you can't repost here you can pm us with you apv and battery setup and we can quote it here.. In a zmax vv/vw I would run dual 3.1-3.2 ohm coils of 32g giving total resistance of 1.5-1.6ohm at 12-15w, 5-6v. In a mech you'll probably want to run into the subohm region with a 20-30amp battery for safety.
