@Mooch had a list of the "best" 3000mAh batteries on PBusardo's site:

#1.Samsung 30Q..."many recycles, retains more capacity than VTC6".

#2.Sony VTC6.

#3.LG HG2..."lowest retaining capacity of the 3".

..
Just a couple of questions

The samsung 30q is 15 amps. Will it work with this mod?

Sedondly, do I need flat top or button top battery for this mod?

Thanks.

Those batteries should work and I don't think they make a button top. I only use flat tops on mine.

Flat top, and as @puffon says the 30Q was able to provide 20A safely on Mooch's tests. If you want to check out the other options, Mooch's list of recommended batteries is here:

Mooch's Recommended Batteries | E-Cigarette Forum

As to whether it will work with the P80 - yes but...

A single 20A battery can be used up to 50 - 60 w. As I don't want to go over 60 w, I'm happily using a Samsung 30Q in my P80 at the moment. If you want to go higher, you'll need to look at 25 or 30 A batteries. The problem with them is that capacity (mAh) drops as the amp rating rises, so a charge won't last as long.

For what it's worth, the most popular batteries for vaping tend to be the 20-ish amp ones as they offer a good balance of CDR and capacity. It's just important to know their limits.

I'm thinking of trying these when I finally get my P80.

Sanyo NCR18650GA 10A 3300mAh 18650 Bench Retest Results...a great 12A battery

The 25r's and VTC4's I have are almost 3 years old, and while still working Great in my other mods (with only .1v to .15v sag under load) the NCR18650ga 10a batteries look better for my application. 95% of the time I am below 10 watts, and the rest I am below 20 watts, on regulated mod's, I've never owned a Mech.

I'd use them. See any good deals on them?

$13.70 but $15.67 shipping and I think it's one for the blue.
Go to the regular check out, not the PP link.
Once there you get the $5.76 shipping with the option to check out with PP.
Use code ECF for .41 off
