Ummmm.....can't log in from the front page. Have to pretend to want to reply to a post, then wait for it to tell me I'm not logged in, and show the log-in block. The "username" and "password" log-in boxes are obscured by "Facebook". When I DID log in after pretending to post, there is a jumbled mess of words on top of other words above my username in the upper right corner. Just thought you'd wanna' know....Thanks.

Thanks to everyone on the ECF for all of their hard work, looks great! However 2 days ago my profile started showing somebody else's and NOT MINE!!! Has this happened to anybody else, or just me? This has caused much confusion and worry for my friends, and transactions on ecf that I've making in the classifieds! Can somebody PLEASE HELP? Thank You!!!

This is caused by the apostrophe in your user name. vB4.0 does not like "special symbols" in member names. It is possible that you will have to alter your name to resolve this issue. We will let you know.

You are not alone, same in every way for me.Sure it will be fixed in time, at least there is any easy way around the problem.

Me too... and it has been terrible trying to find anything! I still can't bring up my posts.

Nope, not fixed and nobody seemed to notice that I asked for help. LOL

So, it is the period after the A in my user name? Jeeze. Can you fix this El? Let me know too? Hate it that I'll have to make a change to my name after all this time.

What do we do if we know of someone who's profile isn't showing? (or in this case, it shows another user when you click 'show profile')

I don't want to post usernames here if it's not appropriate.

Incidentally, this person has a period in their name.

I'm having an issue with the read first unread not working when there is more than one page in a thread. Has this been brought up before?

This works for me, did you watched the current URL redirection in your browser?

Alex, I brought it up too (post #119). None of the "go to first unread post" options work for me...not the arrow next to the thread, nor the "go to first unread post" link on the main forum page. Nothing works. Pedromj posted some links in a previous post here, but I can't get that to work either.

When you select a thread and it goes to the first page it's the View First Unread. It's right above the OP in the gray shaded area.

Thanks a bunch Alex. My user profile and name seems to be working ok now.

A few more questions...

When I get a pop-up notice for a PM, I click the notice box, but got a broken link. Seems the pop-up box isn't working right. Is that just happening here and there or is that something to fix later? I had to access my PMs by just hitting cancel on the pop-up and I went to the Notifications link at the very top of the forum.

Also, MY POSTS is actually just all the threads I've posted in (arranged by the date another member has posted in that thread). So there is no way to go back and see if there was a reply to my last post I just made since I can't find it, or even the thread by any date order... Is that the way it'll be from now on? I see there is an arrow that I can select to see my last post in that thread. Is that how we navigate our posts now? The only way I can figure out to see my posts in current order is to select from the links on my own Member Avatar/User Name (View Forum Posts). It's a PIA!

BTW, View First Unread doesn't ever work for me in threads either. Just tried several threads and all go back to the OP on the first page.

OH, and when I posted this it pops me back to the 1st page of this thread! Weird!

Alex, I brought it up too (post #119). None of the "go to first unread post" options work for me...not the arrow next to the thread, nor the "go to first unread post" link on the main forum page. Nothing works. Pedromj posted some links in a previous post here, but I can't get that to work either.

This is my issue as well although it doesn't do it for every thread. Was trying to see if there is a pattern to it and am finding that if there are multiple pages in a thread that I had been following, the "Go to first new post" button will take me to the top of the page where the new post is (where I am forced to scroll down), not directly to the new post on that same page.

However if the message thread is only a single page, then it correctly goes to the first new post on that single page (at least for me).

So it seems to possibly be related to multi-page threads. It knows what page the new post is on and goes to that page, but won't move to the new post's position, instead defaulting to the top of that page instead.

And as a sidenote, this happens when I post to multi-page threads (like this) as well. When I post, instead of landing at my own post, it lands at the top of the page where I posted.
