I would expect nothing less from the group that signed that letter. Elections have consequences. In the letters I've sent to my representatives, state, fed, house, senate, I've made it clear that I've NEVER voted for a person because of a single issue. I've always considered ALL the issues at the time of voting. This time the single issue happens to be my life and health and this time it is different, I will vote on this single issue when their time to get reelected comes.

Sorry but i respectfully disagree with all of you. If companies are advertising as they claim in the letter maybe they should be investigated. False, deceptive and misleading advertising is wrong and should be punished to the max. You guys are nuts. You should be proud of these leaders.

But now that I think about it - technically speaking vaping should and will add years to my life since I don't smoke cancer causing cigs ne more and I did quit smoking when i started vaping............hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.............weird..........second claim is 100% true.......first one is IMO pretty close to 100% true as well..............I agree - we need to investigate politicians....

I believe a politician will do anything when motivated by political expediency or money. This is the pot calling the kettle black. Facts are stupid little things that get in the way.

What we need is a fraud investigation from campaign promises versus actual performance. It must be great to be able to tell your bosses that you are going to do this and that, never deliver, and still keep your job, paycheck and all the perks. i have zero faith in any elected official to do anything other than cover their own .... That "Easter Bunny" died a long time ago.

Individuals are responsible for doing that - prior to any time they vote.

Sadly, the vast majority just look at the letter next to the name and call it 'good enough.'

We are lucky if 50% of the people who are eligible to vote in a National election vote. All you need to do is ask yourself why after all these years why are cigarettes are still being sold? There is no lobby for e-cigs. There are lobby's for pharmaceuticals, tobacco, oil, banking, NRA, etc.

What a bunch of bleeding id*ots!

We are lucky if 50% of the people who are eligible to vote in a National election vote.

And now you know why.
You can vote for whomever you please. They will all lie to you, deceive you, break their campaign promises and work for the interests of whoever puts the most bribe money into their deep pockets. And that is NOT the citizens.

In my home country, we have a saying:
Put them all in a bag and hit it with a stick. And you will always be hitting the right person.

Can you imagine people actually getting paid (!) (in salary and ... uhm.. industry money) to sit on their fat behinds and come up with that kind of drivel?

Yeah.. put them all in a bag.... see above.

Ditto.
And that is all I have to say about that.

Too bad that saying wasn't in effect in 1935.

That's why you need to follow the money.

I have to say, I believe STRONGLY that outside very poor countries, it is NOT the politicians who are at fault, it is the people who believe and vote by the ads that all those contributions paid for. The lobbyists are not bribing our politicians with money, they are bribing them with ACCESS TO OUR VOTES. If we didn't sell that to the media that run the ads, the lobbyists couldn't sell it to the politicians.

We need to go back to teaching basic logic in school. But as disillusioned as I am by the Democrats these days (I'm a lifelong Democrat until this year) I have seen a HUGE difference between the behavior of the ones we get to IN PERSON vs. the ones whose in-person contacts have only been paid schmoozers from corporations. I also note that hardly any posts I've seen on ECF in the last 2 years have adopted the idea of doing a few hours of IN-PERSON campaigning for people on our side. Just half a Saturday, or a coffee held at your house. It's hard to believe, but I've seen this kind of personal contact make a huge difference in local elections. (I don't think it would do anything for Presidential elections, and in the states that are the size of nations, Senatorial. But anything smaller, YES.)

When we decide our personal efforts would be worthless, that becomes self-fulfilling prophesy. (Now, if I could just learn to BE NICE when I talk to people, I'm sure it would help a lot!)

I believe Senator Boxer is 100% sincere in her stupidity on this topic. Worse, I believe information sent to her is being filtered and censored by young staffers who know 1000% less than the Senator herself.
