You gotta love the marketing of some of these products! No riddle to it, just smoke and mirrors and at the end of the day it only turns e-juice into vapor. I'm maturing as a vapor, make it hard to buy your product and I won't.

haters will hate, not like they're creating anything - just sitting back spewing their :2c: like we honestly will be swayed into not buying it, because this guy, or that guy is maturing as a vaper and is cheap/lazy/above it all...

some people like to collect things... it makes sense to collect things that have a positive affect on your health... why on earth post here if you're not interested in the OP's title? oh I know... just to hate...

Gawd the ECF forum is filling up with elitist old ...... nowadays.

Back to the OP - Yea it looks awesome... I want one badly... Just got a Cartel Mod, it's my best mod by far, and I spent $300.00+ on it. I'll gladly spend $400.00 on a brand new Skeleton Key. I'd love one in a Copper/SS combo... that'd be sexay.

Sigh...People who aren't into collecting things will never understand collectors, I guess. Why collect stamps? They're just little pieces of paper with glue on the back.

I got 3 Skeleton Keys. Thats how much I support the mod. Mods nowadays are too simple. Not enough innovation to justify a price point. Some are just way too over priced for just regular metal tubes. But when a modder invests himeself into his creation the mod becomes a work of art, a masterpiece. Marquis's work shows just that with highly intricate design and details, functional artistic lock ring and meaning. And by living up to the quote "Mechanical art in limited edition" truly justifies that the Skeleton Key is worth more than it's price point.

I think you probably deserve one of these mods and I truly hope you have the answer to the riddle. You sound like just the type of customer this company is looking for, a real class act. . Best of luck to you.

Sorry I hurt your feelers.

Exactly! Plus they are located right here in my home town!

To answer some of the questions, I got mine from a private seller who doesn't support "flipper"'pricing. In short, I got really lucky.... It hits amazing.... SN is 45. :)

time to contribute to the flames;

Its all in perspective. IF oyu want a functional mech mod, a good CLONE will run around 50$. MY valkyrie from EHPro has less than 0.01 volt drop. As mentioned, its a metal tube with a switch.

But if you want something elegant, and collectable, then you get a legit piece.

Honestly, if a legit mech mod was 120$ or less, I'd be interested fo sho. But I honestly cannot bring myself to spend 200+$ on a metal tube and switch just because the manufacturer inflates the price.

That being said, I rarely buy legit mods cuz I cannot afford them but even if I could I cannot find a good reason to invest 200+ in a metal tube. I rather invest it in my truck where I will get alot more return out of it.

My 2 cents

And that is exactly the point. Some people would not be able to understand why you would want to invest money in your truck. It's just a functional device used for getting from point a to point b. Why spend money on it beyond gas?

To each their own. We are nobody to judge what others do.

^while I agree with most authentic mods shouldn't be more than $120 (my Gus kiss qe was about $150- 4nine was ~$165 ). You can't make a decision about a mod like this without holding and experiencing it.. metal isn't just metal...

Sometimes yes, most of the time, no.
I've held a lot of mods, clones and legit pieces.
There are differences in some, others are identical.

It's the blanket statements that bites us in the rump.

If you want collectibility always buy legit.
But don't expect legit pieces to always perform better than a clone without research.
Don't expect a higher level of manufacturing with all legit pieces
This just isn't accurate.
Some are virtually exact copies. It's not that hard for a country that manufactures everything from Auto parts to iPhones.

Oh the reason to invest in my truck is simple; its my daily driver =P

But to get to your point, I merely was mentioning that collectors are fickle and have their own tastes. Me, I cant find logic in investing 200$ in a metal tube that maybe 5 people in my area not onl know what it is, but have the cash to waste on it to get a return out of it. My truck on the other hand will yield a better return in the future should I need to sell it.

of course, the truck is a mere example, but serves my point =P Some people though want a exclusive piece of gear.

But that all being said, the most important thing is this; if it helps you to kick the smoking habit, then lets keep doin it.

The "Hype" is all marketing to fool the consumer into paying $200 ++ for a metal tube with a lazer etched logo that's worth $35.

You bring up a good point. But companies that clone do not have to pay for research and development. They don't have to pay the designer. They simply re-create something that someone else put hard work into creating. Yes a clone gets you vapor. But most clone companies take shortcuts and the machining isn't nearly as flawless. Switches are usually not as smooth, threads aren't as precise. When it comes down to it at the end of the day, it depends if you want to support someone who is counterfeiting someone else's work, or support someone who cared and appreciated every step through the idea to the manufacturing. Other people aren't going to be able to tell if it's a clone, unless they see it up close and know what they are looking at. But the one who owns it sure does.
