I am thankful for football. I know this sounds like a silly thing to be thankful for but please allow me to explain.
In 2003-2004 I was in Iraq. I was able to see exactly one game that year. In the middle of nowhere, sleeping in a tent, using a 17" TV and rabbit ears I was somehow able to rig the TV to watch my beloved Patriots play the Dolphins at 3 in the morning. I was so thankful to have a slice of home, while so far away. We never were able to get that TV working again after that night.
It has been said that sports are a great escape from the real world. and it was never more evident than that night. It is a game that I will never forget.

I am thankful that I got to have my grandmother in my life well into my 40's. She was 100 years old when she passed away this past May. She was blessed with a sharp mind until she passed away in her sleep. She had a nice visit with my parents that same evening, and they didn't have any indication that she would be gone that night.

She was and still is a guiding light in my life.

NOW for my thankful-

I am Thankful for the fact that I can decline to purchase high priced meat and veggies and come home and butcher it myself or open a jar of what I picked this summer. Now if I just had something to help with the other 300.00 worth every week and a half...

I am thankful I did not get pulled over after blowing past a cop (CHP) well into the triple digits

I commend you sir. You are awesome and you inspire me :D

I'm thankful that possum didn't chase me round the house again last night!

I have dogs so I hate to sound like a mean person but that possum would have recieved some buckshot from my shotgun or whatever I am able to get my hands on so I guess that I can be thankful for Walmart because they have ammunition

Today I am thankful for the holidays.I went out to get a pointsetta for my front steps and they were nice and big and only $3.00 each,so I got 3 and gave 2 to my 2 favorite neighbors. They were very happy and gave me hugs.I felt very much in the spirit and finished doing all my indoor holiday decorating. My house looks clean and pretty and very ready for the holidays. Now I just have to wrap.
