I've only had my SL for a couple weeks and it doesn't see much dirt (lives on my coffee table at home or my desk at work). I've had no issues at all with the "open" design.
I plan on taking it out on my dirt bike this weekend....we'll see how that goes.

I have my woodies for home use and metal as my road warriors so was curious on how they are out and about taking to the beach, being in my pocket ( pocket lint) etc.

Thanks Mack... That right there is the only reason I'll get another metal one- too much in love with wood. But something that light, that gorgeous, and with 6 ml of juice in her, and an 18490 with the new contacts ( old contacts on my 18490 woodvil already practically last me all day) dayum fine. I'd bring her anywhere I thought I might do something stupid and wreck less lol

I have never had a non-SL Reo so I can't compare the two however, I do work for the subway system in DC and I am frequently in active tunnels with zero issues from the metal dust entering the SL. I worked industrial construction for 20 years and the conditions inside a Metro tunnel are far more severe than I ever encountered in construction. Metal dust, rust, brake dust, rats, pee pingers, etc; not a nice place to be... Alas no failures. I do rinse the entire device every few days just to keep it looking new.
Also: I have no interest in wood due to childhood issues with my fathers woodshop/company in the basement when I was growing up. I'm highly allergic to most wood dust and just don't care to deal with wood in general. Suffice to say I won't be stalking Woodvilles.
