would it be difficult to do one like this, but not mill the holes on the one side panel only? the one side panel on the juice side? I'd love to build one of these with a dna in the side like I did on my woody, but with an aluminum cap :)

Did you paint your atty? Was it stainless steel? if so could you advise of how you painted? Scuff stainless, apply primer, apply heat resistant Krylon type paint? Yours came out great! :) I have a stainless Hornet on the way and would like to paint black.

That's the stock finish of a Satin Chalice II

yeah, it's a satin finish that's done by media blasting I believe, should get a similar look by sandblasting it but sand will be a bit coarse and might make it a little bit more of a rough finish than this. paint can be done but you'll still want to rough it up a bit for adhesion, personally I think I'd avoid paint but if you must then also use a high heat paint, something like an engine enamel would be enough if you want gloss or you can use a flatter black like a bar b q type finish too

Glue some colored cellophane on the inside in front of the holes and mod it with an LED on the inside...

NooOOOoOoOoOOo! Don't play with your Reo unless you think you can win.

Wow, that would be something.

It sure would. I have a plastic Halloween pumpkin like that. It blinks too. (Oh crap. I shouldn't have mentioned the blinking part...)

Thanks for the info. With the fear of messing up the paint job I'm thinking I am starting to like the stainless look! :)

So wire brush on a dremel with the speed a little to high...oops...
Then again I got the TRA because the more beat up it gets the better it looks.

Out of curiousity, did you take it from tumbled to that kind of mirror-y finish with your dremel? If so what attachments did you use? One of my projects is taking my black wrinkle down to aluminum then trying to shine it up.

I used the wire wheel on the dremel. Keep the speed and the pressure to a minimum and should be gravy. Our get the dremel polish kit and should come out much better. I am going to get some super fine grit sand paper and try for a brushed finish.

I picked up the polish kit, its just been sitting there. Just haven't got everything ready and done it lol. Looks like you're supposed to use the sanding things that don't look like brillo pads first, then the brillo pad looking things?

I've polished my reo, looks amazing but it then is a nightmare to keep looking good, fingerprints show like crazy and aluminum is soft so it scratches easily, builds up micro scratches and scuffs and when it's polished you see each imperfection as glaring, I went to a brushed finish just so it was a little more durable finish. I wouldn't recommend polished unless you plan on carrying a micro fiber to keep polishing it as you use it, it's not hard like stainless steel, with stainless you can get away with polish, it will still show fingerprints and smudges but you can just wipe it down without scratching the surface each time you do, stainless is much harder than aluminum and even that is a pita when high polished because of finger prints and smudges alone. brass is the same thing as aluminum really, it's beautiful when it's a mirror, but scratches just by touching it because it's so soft. you've got to be a real polishing junky to maintain brass or aluminum polished :)
