Well I've been fiddling with my AGA T2 all weekend and haven't been able to get a good coil to work right and taste right. I decided to cheat a little. I took apart a used dual coil cartomizer (don't ask me why I keep them lol) and I noticed there was a sleeve covering the OUTSIDE of the coils in it.
The sleeve appears to be like the nextel sleeves I see discussed on here. I slid it onto the outside of my 400 SS mesh wick (nice snug fit) and slid all that down into the coil I've been fiddling with (super tight fit, took about 10 min to work it down without messing up the coil). Now with that on there I have absolutely no hot spots and it is working like a charm.
My question is: does anybody know exactly what material the sleeves in dual coil cartomizers are? and do you think it is safe to use on the INSIDE of the coil, making full contact with every wrap? I'm just worried about it putting off harmful fumes or something, probably just newbie paranoia but it can't hurt to ask.
