I feel that once in a couple of days, more frequently now in my third week of vaping & being smoke free. It's like "I vaped so now is time for a smoke break". LOL but true :) I don't have real cigs in the house but I honestly doubt I'd light one if I had. Not very convincing urge, but it is still there. For how long will it last, from your experience?

It will vary by person. Some people struggle daily, and/or supplement with smokeless tobacco. Others report having no urges from the moment they first vaped.

I took my time switching over, so i had a cigg when i wanted one (I have no will power at all) . It took about 6 weeks for the urge to go away, but was down to almost nothing for a couple of weeks before that. For me, what it took was finding the right nicotine level for me (24mg/ml at that time, 18mg/ml now)

Either way, don't stress over it, and let yourself get through the learning curve and find what works for you.

viktor I`ve found just the opposite. I just got back from a gathering of 1/2 dozen friends, and we all sat at a picnic table for an hour, they were all smoking, just a while ago it hit me that I never had an urge. It should happen anytime for you. I smoked 2 packs a day for 27 years. Just vape more! I do vape non stop.

vaping non stop, is that where everyone ends up?

For a while I did---from the time I got up to the time I went to bed. Eventually that feeling of "Okay, I've vaped, now I need a cig" went away and I was pretty unaware of it when it did.

Now the vaping has really decreased. When away from the house, I carry three Nicosticks and right now I switch the batteries out once a week, and a lot of times, the batteries are still working. And that is so differenct from right at first when I was running frantic trying to keep factory batteries charged.

viktor that could be why you`re still craving? Maybe it was a little to soon to start thinking about decreasing the nic level? Just a thought, but IMO better to stay off the analogs and take longer to wean off the nic than to drop to quick and still be wrestling with the urge.

If you have an urge for a smoke, do it. Over time, you will most likely find that it's the habit you're missing... because they will start tasting like crap. I know it sounds strange but I was/am still addicted to that 'dirty lung' feeling I get after chain smoking a few cigarettes. I remedied it by upping the nicotine and switching to a high volt mod. Now my e-cig is 'stronger' than a cigarette. This has helped kick the habit for the most part. I've been vaping for almost 2 years now. That being said, I will occasionally smoke in a social setting - though my 'expected' experience is far lacking compared what I get on with my e-cig. It's almost like I don't want to accept that analog cigs just don't do it for me anymore.

I'm decreasing my nic intake because it feels better. But maybe you're right, we're such complicated creatures ;)

Anyway, all these concerns are minor, I still remember horrors of cold turkey six months ago.

going against the grain here but then i have been banned before

i agree with Tropical Bob here in that my ecig just does not do it all the way for me. on TB's suggestion i bought and am using Stonewall Jave spit-less tobacco. with it my desires/urges are satisfied.. my body did not react against no real tobacco until i had been cigarette free for three weeks and then it all fell apart.. when i use half a tablet of Stonewall i not only do not want a cigarette, i do not want nicotine from my ecig, i still like to puff on a 0mg ecig though

i could not find TB's video explaining this but YouTube - Dissolvable tobacco: Camel vs. Stonewall might be a good place to start looking for it.

hope this helps

also this might be of interest to you http://whyfiles.org/024nicotine/brainscan.html
